AZ RE雨宮-ish Financial Disaster LSX

Long intro with many pics.
Now I know what you're thinking... Another member using the "Financial Disaster" term to describe his FD. Well I think my story will be more than enough to allow me to use that term with no problems.

My build thread starts with my friend selling me a 13brew to be put into my AE86. Motor sat in his car for a few years and that how he got it so we knew nothing about it. I started to collect all the rebuild parts from Atkins, bought a single turbo setup, bought ID 1000cc and 2000cc injectors, Haltech ecu ect ect. Found an S2000 motor and transmission for cheap so bought that for the AE86.

So I decide since I had all this crap and owned 2 T2 FC's its time to buy an FD.

So I find a 1993 FD

in Phoenix, AZ from a guy who was a vendor here. Gurew. Now this was before he ripped off a ton of people and got kicked off the forums, but we will get back to that.
So he wanted 10gs for it and i asked him would he sell it with no motor and trans. We agreed to $5.5k for it. Clean titled and 73k on the OD. Now It had its normal problems of being ugly mods but I had an FD now.

OK cliff notes time since I don’t want to type all this.
1. Bought Fd from thief
2. Paid thief close to 10gs and took another 5-7gs worth of stuff to him to build Fd since I was building other cars at the time.
3. Thief disappeared taking a lot of money and parts were sold from my car.
4. Notified on FB to come pick my car up otherwise impound from thief’s baby's momma momma 2 years after the initial agreement.
5. Got a motor back that was junk from what I was told.

Started buying stuff to return the car to some what a former glory.

Almost 3 years after buying the FD it still sits. While at ASB was talking about how V8s are too loud. Made the comment I would only buy a LS1 if it was stupid cheap. Guy next to me says "I'll sell you an LS1 for a G!" So I bought it

Here starts another string of events that led up to the title of this tread.
Well after some night it rained the engine got water in it and was torn down to inspect for cylinder wall rust. Turns out the motor has 2 spun bearings. Que the full over hull which cost more than I wanted. LS1 was "Rebuilt" by some shop which got closed down for using customer’s engines in their track car.
Started buying stuff to return the car to some what a former glory.

Some of the pics are not in order, and only being able to post 12 pics at a time is kinda a PITA.
Also can't find alot of pics for some reason.
Got tired of the fixed headlights and saw the out put isn't what I wanted. Sold them and went back to the OEM ones.
Also changes my LS1 MAF to and LS7 card style and intake tube.

Got rid of the LS1 intake and crappy TB cable bracket. Bought an LS6 setup with Aeromotive fuel rails, ordered a new Samberg TB cable bracket. After what seemed like 10 trips to the fitting store I got the new LS6 stuff installed. The only thing now different from my motor to an LS6 is I dont have the heads or cam. Tb is ported nicely as well.

So at this point I've bought 3 body kits, 2 intake manifolds, 3 sets of headlights, the wrong fuel system, and more not needed stuff. I'll update more tonight.

If you cant tell by now a lot of stuff goes wrong.

I also moved to a new house with more room for junk.

So here comes another mistake on my part. I bought these headers knowing they were from a wreck hoping to save money and one side could work but is to banged up to fit with some parts i have. Got an HKS catback which probably isn't big enough for the motor.

At first I was thinking oh no, I feel bad for the car and the OP, but more for the car as it looked hopeless.

Then some decent progress. Not the most organized progress, but progress nonetheless. Keep it up, but maybe try not buying anything more until everything you already have installed. Things can go south quickly if you jump between multiple things.

And don't worry about your exhaust being too small. It's fine unless you add a turbo and crank the boost.

Seems getting screwed over is VERY common among FD owners. Been there done that, difficult to stomach at times but must keep going.

Glad to see another FD being put back together.

You're right it doesn't deliver but then again I really haven't finished the intro yet. You can only upload 12 pics at a time I have about 400 and a few years worth or sorting. A lot of the pics that have been posted are not in order. Like I said there's more drama and more story. I could sit here and tell you my plans but that's not a build thread. I could list the 15-18k worth of receipts and give a spread sheet of all the parts but what fun would that be.

So back the the intro.
So now I have the motor in with the trans after having to pull it again for that dumbbell which turned out there was one already in there. The harbor freight trans jack broke on me so I had to bench press the T-56 back into the car which sucked but its done. While doing so I found out the release sleeve was not in the hydraulic throw out bearing. Its now all one piece

The previous owner didn't send one and I didn't even know about it til after I connected it with a new TOB. Instead of wasting more money on thing I just used it.
So the headers I bought wouldn't fit due to me using this

Still have yet to get a bash bar made but that will be coming up in the Next few months I hope.
So since the headers didn't fit I just bought another pair and a Y pipe.

I had the headers sent out for some silver ceracoat ceramic work. Put new headers in and now the Y pipe doesn't fit do to the transmission mount. The Hinson mount kit had crappy fitment and is bulky so I just got the kit I wanted to begin with.

Samberg Kit is a lot nicer and gets rid of and wheel hop. Just didn't come powder coated. I still have plans on using a Ford 8.8 rear but I will wait until the diff blows.

Got tired of doing wiring so I just bought a Wiring Specialties LS1 race car harness. I like it but had to changed some of the plugs and their customer service isn't that great. Some confusion do to extra wires and after 4-5 emails they finally cleared it up. I probably won't buy from them again.

Switched to LS3/Truck coil packs which are good for 150HP per cylinder.
The killer glass looks pretty good.
Had a custom chassis harness fuse box bracket made from Kelly at Insane Innovations. The same guy who made Walkers FD S14 from 2013. He will probably be finishing my fab work on all my cars.

Picked up this kit for $750 bucks. I'm somewhere in the mid 30K into this car which includes all the money I was robed for. Yes its a Knock off and yes it fits like crap. Luckily I can work with fiberglass. Started the body work and making it fit.
I decided since its not real I'll add a twist to it like some personal touches.

So i bought another real one from LA which I haven't picked up yet. Will do soon along with my very unique suspension(More to come and You probably haven't seen anyone with it).

Now the front fender is one the Lambo doors won't open so I have a lot more body work to do. There is some where around 22 parts to this kit.
Got some Spirit R brakes for a decent price.

Not that I wanted to use those speakers but fits the bill.

So now this thread is current...Mostly. I just jumped around and picked some of the better pics since I don't want to do a 29 post intro I just gave the short end.
Also have been messing around with the hood because the LS fits but the supercharger I plan on getting doesn't. We will see.

I can relate to wiring specialties AWFUL customer service. I will NEVER buy from them ever again. When I did my RB25 swap in my S13 they did my harness. Took them 6 weeks longer than they promised and they screwed up the MAF wiring making the car not run right... 2k later after they told me to replace all these sensors... they would not refund me any money. Luckily I have a good friend of mine that is an electrical engineer that found and fixed the issue in a weekend.

Yeah I paid $750 and it came with 2 sets of front fenders, which both set there was no way it would bolt on. Nothing on this kit is right.

I was going to buy the milspec Chase bays but I heard it was going to take forever. Jumped on this and kinda wish I just went chase bays. I heard they have issues tho too. I didnt test the harness.
