hadokenny's tighty whitey street/track OEM+ build
Just got my 1994 white RX7. Sold my E46 M3 recently because I got slightly bored of it. Don't get me wrong. The E46 M3 was great but I want something lighter and more tossable. I always had a soft spot for the FD Rx7. Found a white on black RX7 in Michigan for a good price. Flew there, checked it out, bought it, and shipped it back to Cali.
Here she is getting delivered! Bone stock with 61k miles on it. My goal is to make it a decent daily driver that also performs well on the track while making everything as close to OEM in appearance and feel as possible. No crazy body kits, blingy wheels, stripped out interior, engine swap, etc. Hoping to make around 350whp on pump gas while keeping the rotary engine.
Let the modding begin

Looks like a real nice car. Can't wait to see you lose that CB Antenna! Lol
There is a nice S2000 antenna retrofit kit that user Halfspec sells on here. You can see the install done in my build thread.
Love a white FD. What's a good price on one like yours? I know of one for sale in similar condition and miles. Might make an offer on it. Where should I be on price?
Regards,
Mike

Thanks! I am def getting rid of that antenna.
I bought mine for 15k... the catch is it there is a reported accident on carfax. Title is clear. Put it on a lift and everything checked out. PPI showed it need a few minor things here and there. Paid to get them fixed. I did get hooked up on shipping. All in all I paid just under $17k total for the car delivered to cali.

suspension updates!
Got a set of Aragosta Coilovers used. Took them to J-Auto for install and had Juan hook me up with some suspension goodies! Clunking sound from the rear gone and car handles soooo much better. Amazing how such minor mods can enchance the RX7. I can safely say this car already handles better than my E46 M3 with full solid mounts/bushings and track coilovers.
Thanks Juan for taking time to snap these pix during the install.
Finished stance. Now I really neeeeed some wheels.

Thanks for sharing the market price on the car. I had a CW car a few years ago but it wasn't as low of miles and had a swap done so wasn't sure what a car similar to yours should sell for.
I had Work S1R wheels on mine. Looked good on the car in case you are asking for some examples.

Having your cake and eating it too is a real challenge. I have similar goals and if I had a larger garage, I'd go with a dedicated track car. If you do track it, you will need to upgrade the stock cooling (water/oil/air).
I'm almost three years into my journey and I've lost count on how much $s I've sunk into it (starting with a low mileage car with no high dollar components)

A little update on the car. Got some new wheels on. Decided to go with Volk SE37k. It was a real struggle trying to find the correct offset and size for the FD in these wheels as they have long been discontinued. Found a set in Yahoo Auction Japan and pulled the trigger. The sizes are 17x8.5 +40 front and 17x9.5 +35 rear.
Wheels surface had a lot of oxidation/corrosion due to being stored in Japan for a long time. Trying to find a wheel refinisher to get the wheels reconditioned was surprisingly difficult. Most of them straight up told me they may not be able to match the Volk original bronze color correctly. Finally I found Onsite Wheels in OC. He has a great reputation and is known to be the master at matching the volk racing anodized bronze finish. Needless to say, Onsite Wheels did not disappoint.
Here are some pictures of the wheels before and after...
Here they are on the car. Will take some better pix in the next weeks or so to show the stance once I got the height and alignment dialed in.

Looking sweet in white. Thanks for the tip on the shipping Co. I am still waiting on my 94 CW to be done and delivered to LA. Apparently, quality rebuild takes time. I had owned mine for almost 2 months and it's still in Chicago...
Looking forward to meeting up with another CW FD owner and other locals once I finally get mine.

Just installed a C's shifter. Recommend highly if you are able to find one. I was able to ****** one up on yahoo auction japan. Had a sloppy stock shifter, then switched to EBAY shifter which was way too notchy for me. The C's shifter is a little shorter than stock but the feel is much more solid. Huge improvement on how the car drives now.
