FL Hamado Resurrection

Always wanted an FD...could never justify paying for one. A deal came by that I couldn't resist...so now I have one! This will be a fairly long term project, will post pics here as things progress.

Car has been sitting since '05, have not looked inside the gas tank yet...

Pics are before any cleaning.

These wasps clung to their nest for the duration of the 25 mile tow.

Stock twins non-seq, stock ports, power fc, use the car as a daily driver/autocross in ASP. Car already has fluidyne rad and tien type HA coils.

Going to remove roll bar, black the interior, clean EVERYTHING up and enjoy the car :] It will get a respray of the VR once it's running.

That's gonna be a lot of work, but I know you can do it right!

FYI, it looks like the front relay box has been hanging upside down while it's been sitting. I can about guarantee you all the relays are rusted out inside, put that on the to-do list . Some of them are available from other Mazdas at the junkyard.

I got plenty of parts for ya, let me know what all you'll need!

I'm no expert on FD suspension, but I think there's a clearance issue here...

nice FC in the background!

you def have your work cut out for you. but like dale said, if you do it right and take your time to do it right, everything will work out just fine.

btw, the coilover is prolly just hitting because it's hanging but i'm no FD suspension expert either! lol

Bonus points if someone can identify white car in foreground :]

I can see daylight through the same gap on the LF setup. I looked at the bushings and nothing seems worn enough to cause this left/right difference. I will also load the lower control arm and see how much the clearance changes with decreasing the droop... I suppose as long as there's no contact while driving then it isn't an issue.

I wonder if the gas tank could be cleaned/treated? Good used gas tanks aren't super cheap unfortunately.

Hey looks like fun. I have an intake, possible downpipe, and a few other goodies also if u need anything. Already looks like the car is in good hands.

Oh and also...super clean and a pressure washer does wonders.
