Quick COVID19 update for my FD. Installed a few new parts during these quarantine days.
First up is the mazdaspeed style undertray from Shine Auto. I currently have a vmount set up with a radiator that sits quite low. The 99spec undertray needed some modification and cutting for my set up, even then it didnt fit quite the way I like. The 99 spec OEM brake duct also didnt fit due to the fact that I have upgraded larger oil coolers from Sakebomb. Initially I wanted to make an aluminum undertray that will fix those 2 issues, but then I saw that Shine Auto made a very nice mazdaspeed style undertray that's just what I was looking for. The 99 spec lip required a little bit trimming in the center when installing this piece. Not a difficult install. I also drilled additional holes at the end of the lip to secure the undertray better.
The tray is supposed to smooth out the front end bottom to decrease lift. Not sure if its a placebo effect but the front end does feel a little more stable as the speed picks up. What pleasantly surprised me the most is that the steering feel also seemed heavier and less floaty after around 40mph which makes the car even more enjoyable around the canyons and on the freeway. Very happy that Shine Auto is able to reproduce this piece that has long been discontinued from Mazdaspeed.
Next item I installed was the Shine Auto Mazdaspeed Style CF insert for my 99 spec spoiler. I always wanted a more aggressive CF insert for my 99 spec spoiler but I felt the Odula wing doesn't flow well with the FD body. The Mazdaspeed one is similar to the OEM one but slightly more aggressive and has a higher lip. Quality and fitment from Shine is on point as always. Love how the CF contrast with the rest of the car.
Took the car up ACH shortly after the parts are installed. Car definitely felt a little more stable at higher speed. Could be placebo effect but I love the way the car looks installed!

Could you provide some more detail regarding what/how you cut the '99 spec undertray to work with your vmount and radiator setup? Did you cut some holes/vents in it to allow air passing through the radiator to evacuate underneath the car? I've been curious about/tempted by this piece but concerned it wasn't really compatible with a vmount setup from an airflow perspective.

Man, beautiful car! You just convinced me to paint my car white. It's currently SSM but I was going to go with a McLaren orange. Not anymore. White it is! My previous two cars were white so it must be a thing.

Any reason you didn't go for 18" wheels? And what tires are you running?
I've gone with OEM+ for my aero too but instead of the mazdaspeed replica undertray, I went with the racebred components one which is like a lip extension in the front that supposedly decreasing airflow under the car but - more importantly - adds just a touch to the front to make it look more aggressive.
Also, any plans for sideskirts? IMO that's always been the only shortcoming of OEM bodywork.
How do you like the 8374 IWG? I'm looking at that or the 7670 IWG for mostly street driving with the occasional canyon, and am curious where your RPMs are when you hit full boost. How many psi are you running?

I went with 17s because they look more proportional with the FD body. I also like the extra sidewall to make the ride feels more compliant. I am running Continental extreme contact sport. Great tire for street and canyon driving.
Agree with you on the side skirts. I will be adding a set of Feed style side skirts in the near future.
8374 is great. The lag is minimal. I hit full boost (14psi) at around 3k rpm. I use the car for street and canyon driving mostly as well. Since I am running pump gas I felt 8374 was a better choice over 7670 as I wouldnt stress the turbo as much getting to the power level I wanted.
