FierceAlien's Build Thread

Where to begin this thread. Well this is my build thread so I won't go into my recent history. If you're curious feel free to ask me via PM/IM let's not bog this thread down with that fun stuff. OK?

This project starts with a decent condition CYM roller I acquired. The engine will be a IRP Carlisi Memorial engine #2. I won the top prize at the Carlisi raffle last year (2009). I will be using E85 as the primary fuel. I will also have a second map and a laptop accessible in the car at all times to load a 93 map if I ever need too.

A big thanks to Glen of Arizona Rotary Rockets (AZRR) for providing a store where I can acquire a wide range of parts. The parts I was able to acquire from him are: Manifold, turbo, fuel kit with injectors, Xcessive/ground zero LIM/oil pan, oil filler neck, and act clutch/flywheel. I may have missed a few things, but I believe I got them all. More details about the specific parts are below in the lists.

Please feel free to comment and follow me with the build.

-=- Things I still need to get/do -=-
-IRP engine rebuild with stage 3 port job.
-Make down pipe

holy monkeys that's an impressive list. Are you planning on running e85 with those injectors? sounds like you're building a dedicated track car with what you have/want/are going to do.

Yes i am planning on running e85 with those injectors. Its not a dedicated track car. Just something that i can enjoy. I do plan on tracking it. I do plan on dragging it sometimes, as well as getting into circuit track racing. Reason for the cage, is a safety one. If you want more details about that pm me.

That's pretty close to my build that I'll be finishing up this week. You shouldn't really need AI though if you're running E85..?

Sarusanj: Do you have a build thread so i can check it out? Im curious about your build since you said they are similar.

Also, the primary fuel is E85, but i will have to run 93 through this as well. As E85 pumps arent everywhere yet. Planning a water/meth inj kit is just precautionary really for when im running 93.

Update:

My CJ-Motorsports Fuel rail kit has arrived today. Phenomenal packing. I have a picture of it all packed up, as well as the rails on my photobucket. Cant wait to get everything setup and ready to go

p.s. the cat was not included with the kit. He likes chewing on plastic for some reason. *shrugs*

Things look like they're chuggin' along Harris

Look forward to taking delivery of your engine next month, hopefully by that time we'll have cleared out most of the ones we have now

More parts have arrived . All new pix are in the photobucket link up top.

Dual Tial MVR's.

Sakebomb Garage Dual 25 row oil coolers with nylon lines.

Car update. Work is progressing on it. Started to work on the downpipe yesterday. Will continue later today when i wake up. Will perhaps attempt to install the oil coolers as well. =)

Progress is fun.

Rich. Thanks for answering the questions that popped up. I would have answered them otherwise, when i saw your posting.

Took some updated pictures of my Voltphreaks battery. Also added the new parts to the list, that came in today. My ACT clutch/flywheel/pressure plate plus misc clutch installation stuff has all been added to my photobucket acct.

The downpipe is just about finished. Once that is done, its time to begin my wastegate dump tubes. Also over the weekend, the sakebomb dual oil cooler kit was installed.

For now the PFC, in the future I have no idea yet. I know the PFC is a good starter computer, but there are many that can go the next level. I havnt figured out which one i would like to go with. It all depends on how things unravel really. For now, going to stick with the pfc, and run 2 maps. one map for e85, and one for 93 pump.

Do you think 6x 1000cc injectors running E85 will be enough for your target RWHP?

I was thinking you might want to look into the ID2000's for secondaries (I wish they made an injector somewhere between the 1000's & 2000's)

either way, your build looks awesome!

i believe the injectors will help me obtain my target rwhp. Remember, with the Injectors Dynamic/Yaw Power injectors, if you bump the base fuel pressure, they flow at a higher rate. Also, from my understanding with these injectors, we are not limited to the 85% duty cycle compared to other injectors.

Side note, im running 4 secondaries of ID1000's. If i were to put ID2000 there, it would be over kill.

Reference - http://www.injectordynamics.com/ID1000.html

Thanks for the comment about my build thread. I think its awesome too

^^Lol. I totally get that reference (Its over 9000!!) haha.

This may sound like a dumb question (to people in the know it is, I know) But what is the benefit from running E85? Is it mainly for fuel cost savings (is it cheaper?) less chance of detenation? I'm really in the dark here. (while I wait to hear what you have to say, Google is my new friend).

No biggy Jose. E85 is like race gas at the pump. If you can find a place that sells it that is. It has a high octane rating like C16 race fuel. So with that being said, you can run the same boost if not higher boost levels on E85. Also, it is has a cooling effect too. Plus its cheaper then regular gas. Local in the area, a gallon is like 2.00-2.20. Give or take a little.

The down side, you would need about 1/3rd extra fuel on average all over the map. Theres a lot of reading material in the alternative fuels section.

Those are the series 8 rotors? Or did you end up getting different ones?
