Note: I do not have Improved's links, so don't want to talk about their product specifically. I had a similar home built version that came w/ my shocks. Here's the deal though:
1. The links are longer than stock, so put the sway bar at a steeper angle, which I think reduced it's effectiveness (leverage), but more importantly:
2. The lower spherical bearing doesn't have enough rotational range to deal with the angle it will take at full suspension compression. The spacer helped, but I'm still not convinced it was enough, and the long bolt through the shock mount worried me, and may have flexed a bit as well. I went back to the stock links.
The new JRZ forks are a bit thinner than the old ones, but still too thick for the factory nut to get a bite. So, I used a low profile jam nut and a split washer. So far so good. You've got steel forks. I'd just through the stock ones back on. The only way for the aftermarket ones to work well would be to develop some sort of mount on the end of the bolt that mounts the shock, so that the lower spherical bearing could be turned 90 degrees, and therefore have unlimited angle like the top one.

Thanks! I did a mock up of what it would look like installed and I wasn't really feeling it. I think that wing will find a happy home on my black FD though

Jhnrx7 and I are headed to the TrackDaze event this Friday at NJMP if anyone in the area wants to head over and check it out.
We've found out you can overlay the data from the performance box onto video; In our case we used a gopro camera. The software allows you to display speed, lap time, G-forces and track position. I should have a video up from my last track day soon....I got to have more fun with the Porsche boys
Here's the latest addition to Clunkers.....
This has been track tested too! When I ran with the BMW club my instructor definitely used the footrest haha. Anyway I didn't leave it raw, it now has a finish like this...

Thanks to Jhnrx7 for throwing this video together....he's been playing with some new software. I'll be mounting the performancebox up and out of the way next time. This is from the trackdaze event on Friday at NJMP - Thunderbolt with the chicane. Going through the chicane in 3rd gear leaves me high up in the RPM range, but 4th the car seems to bog. 4th feels smoother.

Haven't updated this thread in a while.... Here's a pic from earlier this year, Vette sammich!! The Vettes were pretty good about giving point bys... A Ferrari 360 and GTR were very reluctant however haha.
The GTR finally gave a point by after about five laps of following this closely.... But he decided to give the signal in a non passing zone so I had to wait so I didn't get black flagged, again. Note to all drivers with sunroofs: make sure you don't leave it cracked when heading out on track it may result in a black flag and a drive thorough pit lane

hahaha, it is an old picture. I don't really take pictures of my own cars usually so it was the only one I could find, and I didn't even take it. The engine bay in clunkers is slightly different now, but basically the same.

Managed to fit one last track day in before the end of the year. I was placed in intermediate group, but I noticed a lot of advanced cars had managed to slip in with the intermediate group. The majority of the cars on the track were on R compound tires and R888's.
I still need to work on carrying my speed through the turns and not overly slowing the car for turn one and turn five but overall the day went well with no major incidents other then driver frustration.
I had to get on the brakes mid turn when catching up to that GT3, which upset the car quite a bit but I was able to hold it in line fortunately....The guy was driving way too slow, I'm not sure he knew what he was doing.
I have another video to upload later of what happens when a beginner driver enters the intermediate group before he's ready, it's the second time I've had a bad experience with a Nissan GTR on track.

I was running Dunlop Star Spec Direzza Z1's 255 front 265 rear with Endless PC35 pads front and Endless MX72's in the rear.
Next upgrade will be Hans and harnesses..I should have gotten them already to be honest.

Here's the last video I have from my track day. I only taped one of the sessions since I didn't have my performance box....forgot it at home
The curbing upset the car quite a bit, it felt worse then it looks in the video but I guess the video tells the story better haha.....
Then of course there's the GTR that refused to give a point by for two laps, I was fairly upset but jhnrx7 (the passenger) was pretty pissed haha. I've actually never seen John that mad before. I eventually gave up and let the fully gutted race prepped mustang by in hopes that he would get a point by, but at that point it was the end of the session. Afterward the GTR owner came over to apologize, so it's clear he saw me behind him and still refused to give the point by. Basically he had no excuse for his actions on the track so I gave him a piece of my mind and a lesson on track manners. I guess whatever I said stuck because the next session he was giving point-bys left and right

Playing catchup on an old video I never posted. Here's why it's nice to have the performance box and a gopro camera..data overlay!!
It's showing my best lap time was a 1:17.23, but according to the performance box data it was a 1:17.08. I might have to play around with a few settings on the dashware software to get the timing to line up correctly, but it's close enough. The nice thing about the performance box is it will tell you your "ideal" lap, which is your fastest sectors combined. I guess without traffic my "ideal" lap was in the 1:15 range, maybe next year!
Sorry this video is a little long (8 minutes). This was on Lightning circuit at NJMP.
