What a PoS. I always looked forward to seeing your car complete. It's BS that he can't even respond and ship it back incomplete. I hope he didn't part it out on you.

Figured I'd share an update. The car is back home.

Slowly putting it back together to see what I'm missing... then off to have a subframe made to mount the 20b.

She got stripped of all exterior paint and primered. Front was cut to fit v-mount and 20b...possible the drysump tank.. we'll see.. might mount it in the trunk.

Figured since everything was off the car I'd clean up the dash bar like everyone else does.

I just went to homedepot and bought a wirebrush for my drill. Came out looking polished, but of course painted it with POR15.

Some people have reported grounding issues when coating the dash bar. YMMV. Looks good. I hate all the rusty stuff.

Thanks, Narfle. I could see why now after putting it back together. I'll try and run the grounds to the body if I remember later.

Everything went back perfectly. Got it done in a day, while taking a break to hang out with the kids before bed.

Some of you may recognize this from another 20b build thread on the forum. Deesan decided he never wants his car to run, so I picked it up from him.

I've been looking into DBW setups and adapters to mate to the stock UIM, so I can check this off the box now.

Can you shed any more details on the 370z transmission conversion? How far along are you down that path and what pitfalls exist?

Car is making funny noises. It’s coming from the engine bay. Sounds like a banging. Maybe rod knock? 🤷*♂️ Any help diagnosing the Issue is appreciated.

As a fellow California firearms enthusiast maybe its a poor idea to post obviously non-compliant ARs, AKs, and ACRs on a public forum? I hate grips and locks as much as the next but damn man.

Oh and I've always dug your build, hope it gets all finished up!

Thanks man. They are all CA compliant. All have mag locks, which allow the "evil" grip feature. Also, that's a SCAR, not a ACR.

Living in Australia I find it insane that people are allowed to own those kinds of weapons. I'm glad we don't have to worry about the wrong people getting hold of stuff like that.

Fixed mag with more than 10 rounds of capacity is still non-compliant but I'm sure they're all pinned or have blocks in them and that their size is just meant for tacticool points. Either way, I'm not trying to start a debate, and awesome that its a SCAR rather than an ACR. I dig FN gear.

Edit: Oh yeah, foregrips on a maglock'd rifles? Again, I love firearms, but this is just a bad idea :P

Finally going to mount the engine. All the dbw hardware is in. I also got some idler pulleys from FFE to see if I can get AC in this car with a custom side-mount AC/Alternator bracket.

For any of you with the 1-1/4" tri-point swaybar that never got their widefoot bronze bushing either. I found these billet swaybar mounts with bushings and zerk fittings on summit.

They worked perfect with the widefoot swaybar mount.

Engine in. Realized I didn't need to lower the steering rack; especially with the Atomic Rex manual rack. Stock suspension geometry!
