More progress made, harness is almost done.... probably be at the shop tomorrow night to fit the ECU and make one last check on the harness fitment before completely terminating and sealing it.
Then I still need to do all the power distributions, rewire the WM pump, fuel pump, install aux fuses, mount coils, build coil wires, mount trim switch, build puke tank.... what else am I forgetting?

Soooooooooooo with two weeks left until this beautiful girl is on a transport heading to the left coast I got some more work done over the weekend. Not as much as I would've wanted because it was my Brides bday and there was an emergency vet visit on Saturday but nonetheless, I fabricated my *** off on Saturday and got alot of **** done.

I'm a big proponent of having the coils on the engine for a variety of reasons. I've been running these AEM coils on my own FC for YEARS now and have never had an issue with them being under the mani's. I've done a number of cars like this and they all are fine. Plus it neatens up the bay, plus the wires are shorter, plus the harness is easier to build/install etc etc etc. I just prefer it. Anyway, it's really super tight in the REW UIM because of a few of the solenoids, luckily I was able to cut the housing off the mani to make it fit and then just weld the holes shut.

The basic plate for mounting the QuickSilver Coils

The stainless "spacer" in the center isn't actually a spacer, it's threaded so the 1/4-20 bolts bind everything together. Neat little setup.

Mounted on the engine. I do need to redo the fuel lines though. Sorry man, will be making an order with Summit today for a few fitting and I totally went duh and forgot to get the parts for the sparkplug wires. Duh!!!! Those went with you and the SakeBomb kit

Old wires from my RX8, also running the same Quicksilver coils, just to get an idea of how everything will fit when I'm done building the new wires. They'll be run like the factory. Trailing on the outer, Leading on the inner. No waste spark here, all Direct Fire baby!

Tough angle but the UIM isn't actually hitting. You can see where I pulled out a few unneeded nipples and welded the holes shut. No one likes a boost leak or a vac cap that blows off or just splits. Running 26+ psi you tend to just make all that **** easier on yourself

Yup..... coming together nicely

Next was mounting the ECU. I already had a good idea as it's not the first time... Although this time we're adding the TCA so I had to accomdate that as well. Not bad, M4 vibration sandwich mounts on the TCA, need to order some M5 vibration isolators for the ECU. Even with the ECU connector, everything fits perfectly! Love it, now to get it in there for the last time

Looking good. I wonder if you will be setting the trend of moving coils BACK under the UIM.

Cheers. Ya never know. I've been running them like that for years and never had a problem at all. The quicksilvers are STOUT coils. I ran a back to back to back to back dyno test with these coils vs the Bosch motorsports vs D585's vs an M&W CDI setup I borrowed from a MoTeC Engineer. The Quicksilvers and the M&W gave very similar final HP results. Within the accuracy of the Dyno. The Bosch were close, the D585's were the losers of the competition. The idle and driveablity with the Quicksilvers and the Bosch were better than the CDI though. We all know why, or we should anyway. Regardless, unless you're making well north of 600rwhp, I love the QuickSilvers and you really can't beat the price either for what they're throwing out.
Packaging them under the UIM though almost requires cutting and welding on the UIM which most aren't going to do.
