NV build thread. my 94 r2

figured i would share my slow progress on my new project. I have wanted a fd for about ten years now and now that all the house, job, responsibility nonsense is out of the way for now.. its time. just a few pics showing the little progress i have had, when it cools down i will get more time in.
here is her naked front with hks fmic thanks to mr fritz flynn and his awesome fs post(forgive the odd breather setup and whatever else stands out there were some wierd things done under the hood.)

rear with new to me greddy ti exhaust from same awesome classified post. old plate i hope nobody here in vegas has it yet....

new kicks for the car(origionally ordered for my dd but then the fd came)

on with new greddy coilovers to replace the blown gab super rs it came with.

the wheel doner and dd

old dirty parts removed to make room for new toys

old exhaust looks to me like rb dual but no stamps/etching or anything? looks to big for stock- need to figure this out so i can sell it.

new parts to go on dual dig logging etg to go in new single manifold when it arrives. zietronix wideband, datalogit, new motor and dif mounts, ect

still need to procure a clutch (prob exedy twin), turbo(billet pt 6265),fuel system and ai setup, and a thousand things i haven't thought of yet.
sorry for the quick pics and im sure terribad grammer but i am so excited to finally be building a fd i had to share a little.

more to come..

Yay another 94 BB R2. There's only like 156 of us apparently. (Not counting however many have been wrecked in the last 16 years.) HRE wheels? AZ or Vegas? Nice DD.

Yes forgestar f14 18x9.5 and 18x10

And thanks on the confirmation on the exhaust once it's cleaned to the fs posts. It goes.
Will add a few pics this weekend single manifold is in have to drill and weld bungs for egt probes and then to ceramic coat. Tial 44 is in also and 6265 is on the way.
I have a few more things off the car and am trying to find a ribbed pulley to delete ps and keep ac( it gets a little warm out here )

Oh I am just outside of Vegas btw.

Things are going a little slower than I like but working on air condioning in las Vegas makes for very little time in the summer

Wish I had more to update. I got my hands on a excedy twin disc. Cheap manifold and down pipe for the time being as well as a tial 44. I am still waiting on the 6265 to arrive from aspec. Strange thing happened one morning the hks front mount decided to start changing into a vmount . Waiting on rotary works radiator and for the turbo to show before I can finalize fitment and weld the mounts up. Power steering is now gone and I am fabing up new oil cooler lines to reroute as well as ac lines to make the area clear for the vmount setup. I am about to start tearing into the headlights I have done a few retrofits before so I figure this won't be to hard. I will most likely just do single projectors and mod the arms for sleepy status. Not sure which projectors yet, tl's put out great light and amazing width but they are freaking huge so I'm not sure if they will work. Took off a door panel to see if I could fit the moral 3 way components in there somehow but the mid bass are 8" and it dosent look good they might have to go in the m3 as planned. Basically I have torn a drivable car into a million pieces and am eternally waiting for parts.......sigh. At least work has slowed down and I can dedicate more time to the build, if things will stop breaking at the house that is. I will load teaser vmount pics when I figure out where the woman left the camera

Rotary works vmount rad came in. Suckers thick!

6265 finally made it in

Mockup with hks fmic in vmount config. It's going to be tight but very short piping and the cast end tanks should flow nicely. I have the mounts fabed, still need to make the brackets for the rad and condenser. I have the aluminum to make the ducting there will be 3 splitters with a thin (1-2") duck feeding the turbo. I really need to find a hood lol. Also I am modifying the under tray with venting for the rad might even duct it to the rad to keep all the hot air exiting the engine bay. I am hesitant to finalize the rad setup until I decide on a bumper though. I need boxes from shine, just need to find money to send them first.

Very slow progress due to mortgage company issues and employee issues

Purple samco couplers/90s almost here and purple super now pulleys here whenever the boat gets here. Need to source injectors to get the uim back on and get things wraped up. I have no clue when the car will actually be on the road again but it is nice seeingnit in the garage everyday after work.

I'll have to look up the offsets again as they originally were ordered for my m3 but then when I bought the fd I lost interest in working on the m anymore. Forgestar Was nice enough to drill them for the fd instead but offsets were already determined. I believe it was 34f 22r. But that is just off the top of my head. I plan on running shine feed f+r fenders so clearance won't be an issue- infect spacers will probably be necessary to bring them out a bit. Not a fan of spacers but we will see.

how's the quality on the V-mount radiator? I am planning on purchasing their complete V-mount set up, however there hasnt been any reviews on the parts and recently there's some complaint on their FC V-mount. If you can post some of your thoughts and more pictures would be gladly appreciated =).

e46m3smg,
I see you have the intercooler shroud from the PFS SMIC. Are you selling the shroud? Ive been trying to find one for a while, picked up my SMIC used with no shroud. If you want to sell the shroud, shoot me an email at stryker2002@gmail.com

Thanks from a fellow 94 R2 BB owner....

Short update. Mortgage issues continued and ended up walking away from the house after the mod failed. Owed 200k more than it is now worth and the mort company wouldn't mod. Lot of money later the fd has a new garage, but the same house tapped the budget pretty bad as well as a really bad year at work. Work has resumed slowly motor is ready to be pulled to get rebuilt and get a hbp. Need to find a new tranny as well. Just bought sheet metal to fab up ductwork for the vmount and start hood surgery for the exiting ductwork. As soon as the heat hits and work pics up progress should pick up. Pics will come but the digi cam was lost in the move so yet another thing I have to buy

Sigh financial disaster couldn't be more true. Still happy as he'll to be a fd owner
