CO BUILD THREAD: 13B, Twin T04E - Ground up!

As some may know I have been deployed in Afghanistan for about a year now. Before I left for deployment I tore the FD down and sold almost everything on it. This was in preparation for an LSX swap… hold you’re boos.

After reading Howard Colemans thread/arguments on keeping the rotary (in great detail)(Also a little Ironic that I was able to purchase his turbo system) I made the decision to stay rotary and 13B at that. So over the course of the last year (while dodging bullets, RPG’s and IEDs) I have managed to purchase the following parts, and prepare myself for the largest build I have ever attempted.

-Shine “FEED” Front Bumper, Sideskirts (PWCF), Front Fenders, Rear Over-Fenders, Bumper Protectors

- (-08) Feed Line
-Aeromotive Fuel Filter
-All AN Fittings
-Stock Return Line
-Full FJO 100% Methanol AI, Fuel Pump, Weldon FPR, 2 x 700CC Injectors, 5 Gallon JEGS Tank

COOLING
-Custom Vmount Intercooler
-Koyo N-Flow Radiator
-CWC Dual Mocal Oil Coolers

-OS Giken Superlock LSD 1.5 Way
-Seats (will likely be Recaro)
-Atomic Rex Manual Steering Rack + Electronic Steering Column
-T56 or TREMEC T5 Transmission Conversion

The Build should begin promptly on my return, first week in June. The car is currently in Body/Paint having the nice Shine “FEED” style kit installed.

I post this now (before I begin), hoping/requesting any feedback positive or negative that you may have. This will be the last month I can make revisions or add parts to an already complex build. If you see anything I may have missed please let me know, I have been as thorough as possible over the year data logging and ordering parts.

Keep in mind the car will be driven once in a while on the street, but mostly as a track toy.

Just get home safe, enjoy your leave, spend time with friends and family and hope you don't get deployed again anytime soon. Take a ****-ton of pics during your build also!

By the way, impressive list of parts ya got there. I'd kill for a lot of those items.

What unit are you with? I'm headed over to the sandbox shortly and have already spent 10K+ in my mind for my 7 for my post deployment build!

I am with 1-12IN, 4BCT out of Fort Carson. I was in 2-325 out there at Bragg for 3 years before this.

sweet list. I've been working on my own suspension stuff, and one thing you might want to consider is replacing is the oem "ball type" bushing. I don't know if that bushing type is included in the unobtanium bushing set, but I know it's not included in a lot of aftermarket bushings (I couldn't find any aftermarket companies which even make them). It's just one thing to keep an eye out for because you are swapping out all the rest of the bushings anyways, no sense in reusing an old one!

Fit what, the engine bay?

It's a used turbo kit from Howard Coleman. I'm sure it will fit just fine.

Oh so you're the one that bought his custom kit. I would have done dual GT25's with internal gates but I can't question him as he knows way more then me and he also saved my from throwing in a supercharged LS3. I was already searching for a wrecked Cadillac. Thanks HC!

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Having some big troubles getting CJ Rail kit and Injectors to fit correctly with the GZ LIM. So I am stuck there right now.

The Secondary Rail Mounts/Bolts will not fit with the primary rail on with fittings attatched.

Also the Secondary Rail mounts seem to tall as the injectors are not large enough to fit snuggly into the manifold and the rail.

I am not sure if somehow I was sent the V1 Rail system from CJ as it states that the V2 rail system was redesigned to accommodated aftermarket LIM's. I am waiting to talk to them on monday about it.

Hey, whose engine stand adapter is that? That looks familiar LOL.

That thing looks damn good Simon. I didn't open a lot of the packages when they got to the house, not to get a good look at what you got anyway. Looks good! Can't wait to see it finished, and take it for a spin on the track myself LOL.

Who is your cousin? We have a pretty tight-knit group in the Springs. Tell your cousin to look us up on Friday nights in the Chapel Hills mall parking lot by Sonic. And just get with Simon or myself and let us know when you're coming out and we'll introduce you to the rest of the group. We rotary guys hang out all the time and are always looking for more to join us.

I'm having the same issue. Let me know what you find out with this man. If that's the case I'll have to send mine back and get the V2 too, if that's not what I have already. I think he said that's the one he sent me though.

Josh Skoog, he's got an old first gen and two second gens last I knew, he's also got an s2000 and some other piles that he drives when he doesn't feel like putting miles on the others. One of the second gens has 250+k on the clock on the original motor too, I'll tell him to look you guys up.
