Get it tuned quick almost 3 weeks left of summer....

 

VMIC update- last night drove to NY. awesome temps.
water temp 83c, nothing higher.
intake temps 31c

today
water temp 86 in traffic, once i got going 85 solid.
air40-50 traffic, cruising 36 solid.

wahoo love it. ps got a little better gas mileage after the fpr tweak. did 130 miles and still have a hair over 1/2 tank. Aprrox at 335 miles on the motor. need another 65 by tomorrow for the tune!

 

Sweet ^. Good luck with the tune. U should come up this weekend and help me put my rx back together, lol. I should have the last of the parts I need tomorrow, w00t!

got a tune today. depressing day. turns out my boost controller solenoid is leaking so only 10psi. super gay. super slow. super disappointed.

if anyone has an electronic boost controller cheap please let me know!

 

Why didn't you just throw on a manual controller and finish the tune?

stopped working again
inline fuse came undone
had to take fender off and bandaid. at a friends friends shop, looked like a jackass.
tuning session- boost controller solenoid leaky. cant hold boost
tuned to wastegate spring. its 10lb spring. this is the slowest the car has ever been.
curbed a rim today. about a nice 6incher.
car is stupid loud.

Up scale note. this car runs freaking cold as hell. highest temp i saw today was 87.
on the dyno 84 all day air temp 31. tunner turned the car off let it cool down turned it back up air temps were 29 water temps lower. super.

Im selling the car and just keeping the vmic. everything else can burn to hell.

your build thread is like a long running soap opera I gotta keep tuning in, love where your car has come. Half the guys on this board probably *like* pink car parts now just becuase of you!

You will fix the last few bugs and enjoy it for a little while and then tear something else apart to make it better...

We all hate our cars some days like when you work on it for 12 hours straight and just when you are putting the last bolt back on you break it in half and want to push the d@mn thing off a cliff!

^ unfortunately....swapping the muffler won't do much for the noise. What is your exhaust set up? 3in with cat to Muffler? And are you talking about in car noise? or the car just being loud all around? A lot of people have taken steps to address this. But i've given up.. My car's going to be loud..and i've just accepted it haha. But you can wrap the exhaust.... Or Heat shield the tranny tunnel... Just depends on how bad you want to shut it up.. But with that Bridgy you got there.. you were asking for trouble. lol I love it though.
The idle on the other hand...you should be able to bring down to 1200 at least... 2k is pretty high...

why wont swapping mufflers do anything? right now i have a magnaflow can, i think its about 12-16" long. ill be replacing it with an oval resonator thats 18" long. thats more than double the size.

LMAO common dude, 3" really? common, youve seen my thread, this car is all about unpracticallity!! 4" right out of the turbo all the way back. and most of the exhaust is heat wrapped already. car is quiet coated. but its more so i can drive relaxed with less fear of the cops..

1200 is kinda low imo for a bridge... i dotn think they wil idle that low... 1200 is more like a large street port..

The right tune will get your idle down around 1200, it will still bounce a little above that, but 1200 should be fine.

 

why'd you go bridge and 4" if you want it quiet? i'd do it if i had the funds however, lol. how about a silencer? uh oh, i the the "s" word. hehe

 

uhh cuz it was a mixture of 2 years ago when i was a little younger and a lot more stupid.

hbp because its cool. it wasnt bad with a resonated 3" exhaust.

after i switched to single i got greedy. and it was only suppose to be like 300 more for a full 4" exhaust vs a 4" to 3" downpipe...

lesson learned i guess... im kinda against silencers as im scared of the back pressure.. im gonna try this new muffler... if it doesnt help out enough, ill do a cut out after the midpipe and switch to a 3" exhaust.


PS. today the NJ state trooper thought my exhaust was loud too.

 

Red the thread from the start...your car is coming along pretty good and beautifull...alwayz loved white cars with dark colored rims..... Thumbs up for your garage...i wish i had something like that..

for local police lol got pulled over at 12 last night knew the cop and let me go her two under cover friends were obviously not trying to be soo nice they were ready to pounce on me lol

Thanks!! ive been meaning to update for a while but with school and kinda being fed up with the car i got lazy lol...

some updates off the top of my head..
need to check if the boost controller is working-previously i though the solenoid was defected but found out it just may be the settings.
still need to wire in the switch for the AEM water meth
added the quick release to the front bumper. i kinda installed it poorly but works awesome.. i can take it off in about 3 minutess, just took it off the other week to do a super easy oil change!
car runs like poop, still rich as hell. i want to settle on my exhaust before i get it tuned (4" cut out)
got some tan door panels that im going to use to try and reupholster
I need to hook up my oil catch can as oil is getting everywhere
oh and the icing on the cake, went for a cruise last weekend and lost 5th gear and reverse........ so now its just sitting. i will be picking up a used tranny tonight which supposedly is good and has a 5th gear grind. im hoping its just the syncro as its fairly cheap and ive already done it on this tranny
