^hahha yeah those were my off cuts to my school project...

So i spent the day putting in the rear coilovers and straightening the fins to my r1 coolers. man were they in pretty bad shape =(

while i got sick of straightening the fins, i looked over at my FC oil cooler and im second guessing putting that in instead... what do you guys think about this mounting? it will be combined with a plateless 99 spec front bumper, and i would figure out some sort of ducting.. im leaning towards the last configuration if i do it this way..

as for the coilovers, initial height of the front is height then my strut/spring set up and the rear is .25-.5" lower... depending if the rears rub, i may lower it some more. fronts will definitely go lower, and ill probably roll all 4 fenders some more...

question for ya~ what did you do with your front fender liners? are you just not running them? I ask because I'm trying to figure out what to do with mine (they keep catching and I'm not even that low).

I tend to take my bumper off a lot, and the fender liners were always a PITA and my were all ripped up. i tossed em like an idiot. So for the past year ive been running without them. i THINK i plan on making new ones, only because my semi slicks kick up Sooooooooooooooooooooooo much rocks under my fender and on my side skirts theres PILES of tiny rocks and what not.

lol idk if that was sarcastic or not but yeah that mock up isnt right lol it was sooooooooo long since i test fitted them or seen em on a car i didnt mount em correctly lol they are tucked way under. the top of the skirt should line up with the seem on the door ooops! but they ARE a little warped due to how i stored them (standing up like an idiot......)

UPDATE:
I finally tested the sub and it works like new! i got the battery charged a few weeks back an put it back in to start the car and turned on no problem.

the coilovers seem to be settling okay, still need to be adjusted more but i will wait to drive it first to see how much room i have before it rubs

As for oil coolers, i think im ditching the r1 set up. i think im going to run the stock oil cooler in series with the FC oil cooler. this will leave the pass side duct open for a nice CAI system! now i just gotta look into it and see if its possible.

Sell what? the R1's? If so the fins arent in great condition but im gonna sell em cheap...

So I also really want to utilize my scoote hood center duct. Unfortunately due to my set up, i really dont think it will be big enough for to duct air for the intake. so i am planning to hack a part of the skeleton duct and open it up around the UIM. so Theoretically it will "cool" the UIM. probably not much if it even makes a difference, but cooler air in the engine bay is a plus for me.

quick MS paint shop of what i mean

Also the thread for the oil cooler idea.

Ah i see, mine are a total PITA as well all torn up and just keep rubbing on bumps, sometimes turns LOL...I was thinking of modifying them by cutting them up some more but not really sure what to do.

on another note, using the fc oil cooler looks like a pretty badass idea. hope it works out well!

I would lean more towards the second pic in your in your fc mounting of the oil cooler. more angle= better cooling with ducting of course

Haahha thanks.. I'll be ordering the new oil cooler fittings this weekend.'

now for my half *** update...
I went to town yesterday but i forgot my SD card at my apartment so i couldnt take any pics.....
i began hacking the hood. cut the center duct to give the UIM "cold air" as well cut through the mounting points to install the hood pins. kinda a PITA as they dont line up perfect so i may be making a bushing or some sort so the hood goes on quickly and straight

i got carried away and started sanding all the clear coat off.. damn is this car gonna look good in flat white!!

removed the big shrek ear mirrors

cut the rebar to fit the 99 spec bumper.

PARTS received
matte white vinyl for the whole car
cf vinyl for the interior parts
EBAY TOW HOOKS which look amazing for 32 bucks
EBAY CF MIRRORS which im in love with. they are knockoffs of the craftsquares design
NRG 2.5 quick release

will post pics this weekend/updateee

So I've been ambushing my car and theres no turning back now.......this is from last week, just never got to post the pictures....

Some ebay parts.. these tow hooks are amazing quality and packed VERY impressive for 34 bucks front and rear...

ebay cf mirrors. like craftsquare style. VERY impressed with the quality. its not a direct fit. ill have to make new "arm brackets" as they're bent too much and im going to make new mounting brackets so they line up with the stock holes

got my new NRG 2.5 hub in black

personal 350mm pole position wheel

matte white vinyl for the car and some cf vinyl for the interior plastics

started hacking the hood for my quick release hood (pics later) and cut the center duct to make a new duct to cool the UIM

THIS IS JUST TO SHOW THE ANGLE before some wise *** comments on how it looks like **** and it "doesnt fit"

sanded the clear coat off the front bumper... mmmm looks good!!!

then i went crazy and started going at it on the car.....

hacked the rebar to fit the 99 spec lights. i had to cut a retarted amount off that there is barely anyleft............ what a pos. this will sit for now but i plan to weld up a tubular rebar so i can plow people off the road......

the weather strip and molding SUCK so i took it off not realizing how much of a PITA it is and that i have to remove the glass...

so i bought a new hatch with nicer molding and CLEAR glass hahaha....

there once was a spoiler so i have to pull the plugs and weld it shut..

i plan on just getting a new front windshield if the glass restore stuff doesnt work..

Also got a vinyl cutter so i could start making decals... just a test run i did

anddd for ***** ang giggles, some "garage decor"

TRYING to duplicate decals for the works.. since i HATE the stupid blue ones that came with the rims...

spent all day fitting my knock off plateless 99spec bumper. fits OK........ im hoping to just leave it for a while so it flex's back into shape a little bit more. hooked up the quick releases as well what a PITA. fitment is not perfect by all means but im not **** about it and its plenty good for my standards...............=/ haha

rear bumper removed...

"quick release hood"... still need to get aerocatch locking hood latches so i can take out the mechanism.... and get that cable out of my engine bay!

started to figure out what to do for the mirrors.. im thinking of making my own "arms" instead of rebend the ones it came with... so i whipped up the lathe to see how center it is... worked pretty well!

http://autovinylsolutions.com/Matte%20White%20Vinyl

tow hooks just search on ebay... they were $34 bucks for both... will need some modifcation to get them to the right position but yanno im all about custom stuff... i lied it was 29 bucks lol

Cutter is a low end entry level cutter. it was only 250.. I wish i had more money too, but dont we all? ahah being a college student still does suck, im on my last semester (as long as i pass all my classes with 20credit work load ahha) but it does help being an industrial design major, and looking to have my own fabrication shop in the furture... Thus all the splurging on buying tools/machines for the future.....
