Then paint the intercooler end tanks, pipes and TB pink. Water filler neck, alternator and pulleys black. Then when you look in the engine bay the pink corresponds to path the air takes feeding into the engine. Just my 2 cents, either way keep up the good work and progress.
thats a very interesting idea, to color correspond the air flow unfortunately im sick of working on this car and i just want to get it running so maybe next year

hahah thanks!!! you were my inspiration to attempt it! everytime i see your engine bay its flawless and there was always something that caught my eye about, the shaved bay (or strust towers) really make that extra difference! makes the bay less distracting

Did a little more work since tomorrow is suppose to be insanely hot. i figured id do a little more work now and sleep during the heat wave tomorrow.. its still hot and humid in the garage (hence the pics are foggy as my lens was fogging up)

wiring, routed the alt wire along the firewall and under the UIM. also the ignition wires/oil level/coolant buzzer etc will be ran under the brake booster

Added the oil hard line to oil cooler and wrapped it in some aluminized fiberglass sleeve i got from grainger

Water pump neck sprayed black

Windshield wiper motor back in!

Thanks! ahah i love my crapsman. im no profession, this is all done at home. i love craftsman, sears are everywhere to its convenient to go to and they NEVER hassle me to exchange stuff. i brought in screwdrivers a few months back from over 10+ years ago and you can clearly tell they were beaten to hell and used to pry stuff. no questions asked i got replacements right off the shelf..

Ive never had anything break beside 2-3 rachets (when i shoulda been using a 1/2) IMO its the best bang for our buck... i also liek my HF impact sockets.. never broke one but im a little weary how their warranty is....... just use them how they're suppose to and they will go a long way...

END RANT.

lol buttttt if someone wanted to donate some snap on, blue point, mac, sk etc, ill be willing to try em out

The black and pink look cool, just not eyes friendly when you stare at it for too long

Have you consider powder coating the fuel rail and radiator piping to pink?

I know what you mean. i barely did anything today. this heat has got to me... ive been hot, dirty and frustrated all day. but then again i had to fix my moms passat which was a great deal of the heat/dirty/frustration. ill probably get something to eat and go back at it again later tonight... maybe finish up the interior...

hahha thats the best when youre waiting for one mod then once its done everything goes back quickly... i love the odd/fruity/obnoxiously loud colors too haha

hahha yeah. in person the pink is a lot cooler i swear. the poor pics makes it look like pepto bistomal and a "baby-ish" color pink. in person its NEON pink

my kg parts secondary fuel rail is polished(-ish) and i dont think i care too much to pc it as i hate pc. its a pita. especially for the pink because i use a white base coat to make the pink brighter

radiator piping- i was contemplating it, but didnt want to over kill the pink. plus it easier to ceramic coat em black and makes more sense to ceramic coat it

mid day update

apparently im terrible at mig welding aluminum. i think ive given up so hopefully tomorrow i can find a place to weld the pipes back on...

I don't suppose you remember how to mount your ignition coils in the stock location? I for the life of me can't remember and its been about a year since I pulled them off. I can't find any halfway decent pictures and the FSM just has a shitty picture from a shitty angle.

+1

I built my entire car with my fathers 20-30 year old craftsman tools, not a single failure.

Haha that's the right amount of gas, did you use thin wire? Probably just need practice, aluminum is harder to weld than steel, they are easier to melt through.

Garfinkle sells adapters where you can run -6an fittings for your oil drain instead of using hose clamps. Im 90% sure I still have a set if you need some.

more wiring tonight. i rerouted and loomed all the wires in the engine bay to complete the "tuck"

wrapped an secured the Alt,starter/battery wires.

made a few brackets.
rad is installed an all painted.
idk what else im mad tired.

tomorrow or well today (monday) i plan to get my IC welded.
clean manifold and then assemble piping
put in dp
add fluids (oil, coolant. brake )
prime everything
hopefully she fires. if so then put interior back together....

but i have a feeling i will probably have to push start it since my engine builder crazy glues the seals.......ogh
