Sorry for the blurry pic, but I'm pretty sure its measured in OD

And I'm pretty sure the greddy intercooler kit is 2.75", thats what the greddy elbow is anyways.

Thanks, can anyone confirm that the radiator hose is 1.5" as well? thanks!

ps 90% done with the VMIC, i cut the endtank openings off on saturday and im working on the angle/placement for them before welding them. im super excited to see how it performs. i think the placement looks awesome as the IC fills the whole engine bay top, the rad and IC meet almost perfectly, and ive reduced the greddy FMIC 4 piece piping to one piece cut up into two smaller pieces! im hoping i will see quicker boost response! now i need to shape the endtank pipe inlet/out to flow smoothly back into the core then weld it, get a 135* coupler for the IC to turbo, and some pipe/couplers/clamps to hook the rad back up.

wait, did you try to sand off powder coat?
you know that you should have used liquid stripper that is meant to take up powder coat quickly.
good build so far though!

yep. the stripper specifically for powdercoating is expensive and the smallest size it came in was 5 gallons and i have to order it from like washington? do you have any suggestions on brand? i might just use aircraft stripper, but last time it didnt work too well...

Lazy so no pics. Been porting/polishing my manifolds etc. picked up my motor from KDR (speed1) today. just ordered some couplers/aluminum piping for the rad/IC set up.

tomorrow hopefully i can tackle rerouting the FPR and get the appropriate fittings, finish tucking misc wires behind UIM, reroute brake booster line, and pull the motor!

UGh what a bloody PITA day. im getting rusty as hell. barely remember how to wrench on a damn 7. today it took me over an HOUR to detach the damn motor. and by detach i mean ONLY detach motor from trans. UGH. first checked the clutch ring thingy. check. bolts off, check. pull. no go wtf? tried that for about 45 minutes then realized the clutch thing needs to be PUSHED in not pulled out. what and idiot.

30minutes later...........
wtf. cant push it in.. am i retarted? did i break something? no.

5minutes later.......
removed slave cylinder.

2seconds later...
pop..

3 minutes later..
engine out

suchhhhhhhhhhhh a fail

motors out, started "shaving" the bay and already feel like giving up. im pretty much only doing the sides where the struts are since everything else wont be in sight...

porting has been on hold as i ordered better bits for the die grinder.

pics@!!!!
first time its moved from that spot since november!!! pushed out to bring the hoiste in and out goes the engine!

bye bye pos ghetto built stock port motor!

engine out, car out of garage! first time its seen day light since november.

real motors still in the back of the van... will get a engine stand tomorrow and take it out of the trunk...

You have the same bolt in roll-bar that came in the car I bought. Can I ask who makes it?

well, in that case, you could just send the pieces to a powder coating place and have them strip it for you, not that expensive. it all depends on your area. there are like 4 places within 30 minutes of my house that do that stuff, so its easy for me to get a hold of.
but yes, the smallest you can buy is 5 gallons, which is fine, cause you just pour it into a suitable container and soak the parts, pull them out, VOILA! clean parts
but man, i cant imagine how much time it took to sand those pieces..........

Here comes the monster post......

overall pic of the garage. what a mess. i keep flip flopping between projects...

UIM. all emissions deleted. now doing a block off delete.. SHAVED. (well in the process)

turbo housing sanded again. last ceramic coat came out like crap. tial WG after some steel wool, back to its shine!

oil pan flange clean, check. oil pan brace, check

pullies, and elbow prepped to get a fresh coat of PC

slowly getting some shine back to some old bolts... these are just for inventory.. i have to start cleaning the bolts that i need to assemble the motor back..

Engine stripped down.. (mostly). Yes this is ghetto. yes im picking up an engine stand next week when i come home.

POS alternator. the stupid Philips head screws holding the bearing in stripped out. tried dremeling out a deeper groove for a flat head and that failed. bolt extractor broke an failed. i ended up drilling out the 2 screws that stripped out.

aftermath because i was stupid and forgot to hold alt cover. looks tiny and like a needle *****, but boyyyyyyyy did that hurt when the cover flung into my shin

after sandblasting...

clutch. idk why i took this pic. but i need to have it inspected to make sure its still good (cuz im a terrible asian driver)

hacked the DP to move the WB bung. i got nervous to relocate the bung blind so ill wait till everythings back in the engine to make sure it will fit...

started cleaning up the wp neck. im going to spray it black since it will only be temporary til i have time to make a new one..

motor mount arms. and yes, that is tons of oil leaking on to them

my VMIC brackets.................

as she sits
