that vice was actually 40... older tools made in the usa are MUCH better quality then todays crap. a vice that size at sears would be more than 30 bucks and not nearly as good quality of and old vintage vice.

+1 on the older vices made in the US. A vice that size is is about $200-300 new.

So true. I bought a new vice a couple years ago when I was building ar-15's, and the lips flared after a year from torquing down the barrels. I talked my dad into giving me his vice from the 1960's and it still doesn't have the slightest bit of flaring yet. It's a beast and I couldn't damage it if I tried.

good luck with your build! I would like to learn to weld one of these days.

haha, i do agree that some old tools are nice...But that is a piece and if you seriously paid 40 bucks for that your gnarly. To each his own though. Good luck with the build.

is a piece? not really dont be fooled by its rusty exterior. i didnt even lube it and it is SMOOTH. im guessing you're not much of a tool guy. these old vices are bad *** and a billion times more durable then todays junk!

wow, powdercoat it pink... idk i like the old rustic look on this one... maybe ill PC one of the smaller ones.. haha

ill start the request list of pink powder coated items..

yeah! I've got one of those ancient vices too, it gets used and abused and its a friggin champ. I could probably dunk it in water and leave it outside overnight and it would still work fine.
