Beem's FD build
Hey everyone, just picked up my FD last night. i traded my E36 for it. i have always wanted an FD and this deal just popped up so i jumped on it asap. loaded up my car and drove 6 hours to get it. it was the craziest experience i have had in a long time with getting a car. we had to unload my slammed bmw off the trailer in a torrential down pour. and load the rx7 in the rain. it was terrible, everyone was soaked, tired, and cold.
loaded up the bmw and headed out
here are the pics the guy sent to me
well i obviously dont have pictures of the swap, but driving home was insane. couldnt see 5 feet in front of the truck. then it got cold. real cold. the roads were all black ice. we didnt get back to chicago until 5:30am
better pics since we got home
motors blown up, not sure whats wrong with it. this is my first rotary
started unloading all the parts that came with it
then i tore down the motor for the rebuild
this build is going to take some time. i am currently focusing on my track 240 to get that up and running for MDU. this car is just going to be my cruiser for now. once the motor is back running im just going to get coils and wheels. in the future it will be getting an LS1
here is my 240 build

yeah it was an awesome deal. cost me about $500 in gas, clothes and food for my buddies haha. but yeah i might need a hand when reassembly comes around. there are a lot of parts that i have no idea what they are. not to mention the 300 vacuum lines on the motor... hopefully i can delete most of that

Wow, the body actually doesn't look that bad. Good luck, it looks like you're going to log some serious hours fixing some **** on that FD. That previous owner seems like the hack-job type. You're doing an amazing job on that S14 though so you know what you've gotten yourself into.

Okay cool! Didn't you Usto live in Indiana? I might need a hand once reassembly comes around. But my buddy izzy is going to help rebuild the motor. He's on here rotorhead_izzy. So going to swing it by him next weekend for inspection and figure out parts

as far as coilovers i believe we are going to do a group buy at my shop for D2's. mainly limited because for my 99 GSX there really is not a lot of options so probably just go that route.
ripped apart the motor last night. and my fears came true. rear rotor and housing are DONE. found a low mileage motor local so just going to pick that up with my tax return haha.

Super exciting update!!! Nope just spring cleaning. I promised myself not to spend a dime on the fd till I finish my 240.
I tried unbolting the seats, but apparently the hulk had other plans. Need a pneumatic impact gun since the bolt head started stripping on one. It's ridiculous.
Picked some work XD9 from a buddy. Getting them refinished gloss white. I bought two new ones but they are back ordered. They are going on the 240 for now but perfect for the FD 18x10+18
