I disagree. I spray painted the gear shifter on my motorcycle about 2 years ago. After I hit a deer on the motorcycle, it was one of only four parts on the bike that didn't get replaced. Still holding strong to this day after many thrashings from my boot, road debris, and cleaning chemicals. Spray paint works when done correctly...the problem lies in doing it correctly. I have no problem posting up my failings if something doesn't work
Yep, that's my concern.. "your top coat is only as good as whats under it." We will see. I was already looking at a lim shield. I'm a little paranoid about using a turbo blanket but that's a discussion for a different time.
All right guys, I'll be back in about 3 months with a real update once the 8374 arrives!
You would think that could help, but with all things paint, your top coat is only as good as whats under it. So I have a feeling the powder will just let go pealing the VHT paint with it. But at this point its worth a shot!Or wrap your manifold/down pipe and get a turbo blanket. I have all that on my car and it doesnt have the powder coat yet.

Yeah I'm not dead yet. Just poor.
Fortunately the fine people at turbosource let me lock in the group buy price for the EFR kit until I can finish paying for it.
I've been picking away at small stuff but haven't been motivated to do a whole lot. I got my earls 25 row oil coolers mounted up, I just need 4 fittings that screw into the coolers to connect the hoses. Also waiting for my stainless oil fill neck from IRP to finish off the oil cooler install.
finally installed my stainless clutch line WOOHOO

Winter is over! Time to start working again.
Thanks man
I know I may be a few months late, but I finally cleared the most expensive hurdle of the build. I stopped by the Turblown shop and picked up a few pieces of my efr8374 kit. Got everything paid for, just waiting for the turbo and downpipe.
I'll be in the garage all weekend to see if I can get anything done, updates might be coming soon.
Thanks man

If I have time I can swing out there lol

Working on the vmount ducting
view from the top down. I sliced some vacuum tube I had laying around and use it for the sealing edge. It looks like it will work.
Looks like good ground clearance on the radiator fans
Just need to finish up the other 3 panels now..

Thanks. Maybe if I'm lucky I can start the engine this summer.
Just need:
That should be the bare minimum to start the motor. Looks like about another $3600 I don't know how you guys with wife, kids, and mortgage do it!
Just need:
- Adaptronic
- Fuel rails/injectors/pump
- Alternator
- Battery wired to passenger bin
- Oil catch can and plumbing
- Radiator hoses

I put my CSI skills to use and figured out why it rusted right there. It looks like PO/PO's jacked the car up on that vertical strip of metal where the floor pan and door sill meet and are spot welded together. It got smashed up and wrinkled so water was able to get in between to two sheets of metal and sit inside the unibody.
Thank you. I guess I would say the vmount is semi custom. I bought the intercooler off the classifieds here so it already had the little mounting brackets on it. The radiator is a rotary works vmount radiator that I also picked up from the classifieds, then I just used some scrap 90 degree steel to mount it to the frame. Then I just cut out the aluminum pieces for the duct, so all in all I didn't have to do much to make it fit.

tiny update:
The work bench is filling up with parts. I'm gonna need to start putting things together soon.
Thanks to Elliot and Shawn @Turblown eng. for the high quality equipment
That's about it for progress for now. I got the steering rack out and will be getting it ready to be sent out to maval gear for a manual conversion.

Hey! I must not be subscribed to my own thread, just seeing this now lol. I started a new thread since all my pictures are wiped out here, but I haven't really updated that one either! I just ordered my Adaptronic modular last night...so the car WILL be running this summer. I'll need to figure out a way to restore the pictures on here or delete this thread and start over. Don't give up on me yet!
