95 Chaste White Phoenix

From a '93 Montego Blue to a '95 Chaste White, both will make a revival of my obsession from August '17 accident.

Nice one! Looks like a base model? Where'd you find it, if you don't mind me asking?

Good find! Looking forward to your build. Definitely a silver lining to the misfortune!

thank you. It’s bittersweet as I have all the good parts to swap over to quickly start the healing.

It’s already short lived because the car is being shipped tomorrow.

I think this is the part where you take us aside and explain what had happened.

Close friends on this forum and outside who are in the community know what happened and I’m not ashamed of my accident. I was a responsible driver that wasn’t prepared for the unforeseen condition.

So far owning the car, I had the horrible bubble tint removed but at the cost of the defroster. Lucky to live in Florida but I’ll figure out a replacement window when the time comes to perform full paint job.
I changed the belts, checked the air filter, and flushed the radiator fluid.
The car was missing a vacuum chamber and not sure why or who removed it. But I have a feeling that Undercover Motorsports in New Jersey had something to to do with it. So I sourced one locally from a friend and corrected what a “performance shop” should have done.

I also contacted Dale Clark for some replacement check valves because one had been silicone back together. Such sloppy work.

I needed a quick free good ast and Richard In Panama Beach, FL mailed that quickly to me. Thanks Rich.
I ordered a vacuum solenoid from Mazda at 10% above cost as usual from my relationship with the parts manager. Along with a second fan temp sensor automatics have at the front of the thermostat housing. It had disintegrated.
Mazda also supplied a inner driver side weather stripping seal because of the car being in New Jersey.

The top one? One reputable shop in TX claims this pressure chamber is not necessary, and also not present on the 20b setup. I'd rather keep it, personally.

Yes the pressure chamber was missing on a completely stock engine bay. It was weird.

The Chaste White is in route to Irperformance to meet up with the Montego Blue.

Love the HashTag. We are relieved and happy to bring the car to your shop to have Parts swapped , looked over, and built better.

Some photos of the motor removed. The engine bay is getting stripped down naked for a engine bay paint job. Along with the brackets getting powder coated and the headlights getting sprayed.

Thanks Johnny. How is your Montego blue is coming along? I also made a purchase that the Montego blue didn’t have. I’ve been wanting them since ‘14, but was always doing larger projects on the Montego Blue instead of getting wheels.

I had the wheels shipped from Japan to Irperformance. They’ll be supplying the locking lug nuts along with adjusting the suspension height. Making Rocketeer Great Again actually feels like it’s happening.

I have some small updates, but didn't think they were big enough to make a post about.

Ihor helped me get a new aftermarket front windshield for the car. I was unable to find one in my local area. I figured that New Jersey is a hub of parts located in the metropolitan area. The reason I had it removed and replaced was the actual chipping on the underside of the rearview mirror mount. It wouldn't glue back on and driving around with no rear view mirror is unsettling. I also did it because the windshield tint at the top was a brownish bronze and it looked like caca to me. The new one has a hint of blue. Thats the true reason ;P

Irperformance towed the vehicle to a friends shop to get the engine bay painted. I figured why not since the motor is being pulled. Irp removed all the lines and accessories so that it was a clean paint job. The paint shop also painted my headlight covers, side mirrors, and under the hood while buffing out the paint on the entire car.

Irp afterwards has reinstalled the motor they had built for me last year into the Chaste white from the montego blue. They have also swapped the entire suspension set up. Not only the Ohlin coilovers but front to back, top to bottom control arms because i have Mazda competition bushings installed. I just did them 3 years ago and they are still fresh.

Since the 95 base model was automatic, Irperfomance performed a automatic to manual swap on the vehicle. Pedals, transmission, shaft, differential from the montego blue to the chaste white.

I had damaged the r1 oil cooler that were on the Montego blue and I didn't want to risk a leak from the dent dent and damaged center lines. So, I purchased the 19 row setrab oil coolers from Sakebomb garage along with their standard rubber lines and 93-98 hardware so it bolts up with no issues. When I upgrade to the 99 front end for the Chaste white, I'll be ordering sake bombs 99 bumper hardware for the oil coolers.

Right now, we are waiting on Bryan from BNR to rebuild his turbos. He has had them for about a month now and hasn't touched them since last week when I phone called him. Our conversation went well and he stated that the turbos should be out this week for Irperformance to install. We are practically done.
