Awesome stuff! So you're still running the RE v mount with a larger intercooler now? Or did you just get the end tanks redone? That water injection kit looks sweet! So simple. I like how you opted for the metal tank over a plastic one too. Can't wait to see some dyno numbers on this thing.

Brilliant work! Glad to see you were able to get your intake problem solved and were able to mount the nozzle. When is it going to get tuned? |
Car looks sick!! Nice Job

wow, seriously, so nice. |
Subscribed. Your setup is very close to mine but just a lot cleaner. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see the new numbers!

Ok i'm a little confused.... The injection nozzle is pre turbo.... So what are the other nozzles or connections hooked up right on the compressor outlet elbow? Goes from your tank to the compressor housing. More than one nozzle? Some type of return? Looks killer man!

The two connections you see on the nozzle are: A) water coming from the boost pressurized tank. B) air coming from the turbo elbow. A few folks have built systems like this. The Pioneer of the idea was Peter from Rice Racing. Brent (Dudemaansownrx7) also developed a similar kit. I am using his nozzle and solenoid. https://www.rx7club.com/auxiliary-injection-173/going-make-my-own-wi-kit-807016/ |

wow, seriously, so nice. As for pics, YOU SHALL RECEIVE SIR. I WILL HAPPILY give you high resolution pics and new list when complete. I will have quite a bit more shinny stuff and some more blacked out parts to keep the engine bay scheme more consistent. Everything will be super clean and detailed after the swap. Glad I bought the wife that new digital SLR camera. ;) |
SWEEEEEETTTT!!!!!!

Mazdaspeed carbon hood ORDERED :D. Should be here in a few weeks. I will post detailed pictures. Yes, the carbon price is high. The carbon is marginally stronger and will flex less under higher speeds. Ronnin Speed Works uses OEM latches on their hoods as well. I do not plan to run hood pins.

I wanted to post up the details on the water injection kit as well.

I think that it would be safe to say that you are a perfectionist, LOL. I can't wait until you get the car painted, the go fast parts are looking awesome.

I understand. I'm that way with my cars except for my wife's. I tried for a little while, but found out that was a losing battle.

Thing sounds and looks great. Awesome work.

What's your wheel setup? Any spacers??
You just have your fenders rolled right? Did you have to cut the liner in the front or any modification of the front fender? |

The nozzle is an air atomizing nozzle. It is fed both air and water to atomize a fine micron mist at low pressures. The use of air with the water is what lets it get away with such low pressures and still create a fine enough mist to not damage the compressor.

Wheels and tires are: Front - 9" wide 47mm offset 265/35/18's Rear- 10" wide 43mm offset 285/30/18's I feel this size is perfect for an FD. Great balance of size and performance.

How much water does the tank hold, how long dose it last. Is there already a kit that has a sensor and a gauge to show inside the car like a gas gauge.
I may run this on my twins for the track. Ben As far as an actual gauge goes, there are a few ways you could do it. A series of sensors along the tank, coordinated with LED's could create a spectrum of how full the tank is. However, the GEM sensor I use is about $100 each, and that could get pricey. There are many float style systems obviously but I am not sure how they would operate or even withstand the pressure. Some testing may need to be involved to confirm. I know you are considering the BNR's. "Balljoint" put down some amazing power with Brent's kit using a dual nozzle configuration. In fact, he holds the record at 452whp. He also used a 2.5 gallon tank. I highly recommend PMing him. We actually discussed the WI system quite a bit as I was building mine. Knowledgeable dude. Post #297 outlines his setup. Though I do recommend reading Brent's entire thread. It really outlines the benefits of this type of WI kit. https://www.rx7club.com/auxiliary-injection-173/going-make-my-own-wi-kit-807016/page6/ |
50 1/4 mile passes.
This should be good enough. I just need to be good for a time attack session. I can fill up in between rounds. I do race 2 touge style roads, 1 is 11 minutes of apexs and hairpins, the other has straighter sections but is only 5 mins or so. As for the gauge, it sounds like a gas tank style float can be used and just wire it to an aftermarket gas gauge, like an autometer gauge. I think I will go this route, awesome stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Sounds good, love that color also one of my favs
