10-4 on that, reason for the SMIC hitting the hood actually. I was trying to use it to keep the SMIC up just a bit away from the front pully so I wouldn't have to trim the duct. Although everything fit nice and tight it didn't work out. Gonna have to trim the duct after all. And move the AC support back to its original location. Might have to find a flat head screw instead of a bolt head to bolt AC support in the location however since it will be under the SMIC. Just so the SMIC will sit more flush and not ride on a bolt head.

Low coolant sensor back in (thanks to pointer from Banzai) and AC support secured with 6mm x 01 Phillips head to lower the profile so the SMIC won't ride and rub on it. Got the SMIC back in for final measurements. Just about ready to cut this crooked sum gun this week. Work has my shop busy with company trucks and other projects. Slow goes it.

Been fitting and cutting, not quite there yet. Put some armaflex or donkey dick around the radiator shroud to block the air similar to the factory. Secured it with tie straps and the 3M it has plus Gorilla tape. It's not coming out. Use the soft stuff for 3/4 refrigerant pipe.
The SMIC is a tighter fit than I like still, not so much the pulley but more so the upper rad hose with battery tray in. Kinda pushes on the hose slightly. Just **** about motor movement and rubbing.

Getting there! Looks like you might be able to bend the mount or hog out the holes to get some left/right clearance to get away from the upper rad hose. Mayne Kensin can chim ein about his setup.
Might have to copy the way you sealed up your rad. Interested in maxing out the cooling potential for the setup I have.

The hood is closing, one accomplishment. Factory plastics are lining up. Won't go over much due to the battery tray tab. I'll adjust tomorrow.
Thinking about a few air holes up front that could be a new cold air source for air filter.. not liking the hot air or the restricted box need to look this over.

what are you gonna do about the air pump dump tube on the stock box ?
mine is just open . since the tube haves no room to be fitted and routed to the bottom of car like factory since the greddy is in the way.
my upper radiator hose sits gently next to the smic aswell. from where I'm seeing it's ok. dosent look like it might rub and cause a leak in the future. maybe just keep an eye on it.

Well the hood is closing and the SMIC is in, the plastics fit to give the somewhat factory look but somehow I buried a vacuum line for a solenoid for the air filter oh boy, now to try and figure how to route that back to the front without taking it apart... break time.
Taking my time, hard for these clubs to even get to the plugs so I figured I better change em while I'm in here. Change the oil filter to and will change the oil before starting. Seems like I'm getting close. Maybe in a week or so at my pace.

Might make it before the week ends after all. Got the vacuum line sorted. Had it been a snake it would have bit me. Was right in top after all. Got the battery situated and the twin power even lit up! We are cookin with bacon grease baby! Just need fluids this week and we'll see if this thing will wankle up. Keeping my fingers crossed. Not doing anything else to her until she is fired.

Ok, fixing to change the oil and see if she will hold coolant. Keeping my fingers crossed this weekend holds some windshield time. Here tell last years car show I lost to a 2016 Ferrari is back around. Don't know if I'll make it but I would at least like to do a drive by.

She fired off the first time! Thank the good lord above, must be living right, even though when looking around for leaks I found one coming from the after market AST darn it. I bought hose clamps cause I knew the Mazda pinch clamps wouldn't work on the darn thing and for whatever reason I didn't put one on. Quick fix.
So after giving her a bath I gave her a test run and ran up to the car show. Saw some nice cars. No Mazda's, should've been ready with my fleet.
Seems like the car is pulling nice and hard and the PFC is not even in yet. Between the SMIC, exhaust, Apexi intake, y-pipe and twin power I should have picked up a good 35-40 HP by now.... should be feeling something in the seat.
Check out the 1937 Plymouth, 427 blown mustang, Dodge R/T and nice 70' pickup.

Yeah, not going to push it until I get the Walboro 255 and the PFC in and tuned. Few more things to do yet also. Are you ever really done...
Had a nice photo op today with all the cars out of the shop in the back yard getting a bath.

Pre mix
So I guess this question might be best for the tuner but I thought I would get some feed back from the community specific to this bolt on build. I am curious to hear the various pros and cons to pre mix with a working OMP when going to a dyno. Does it even matter? Far as I know there has not been any in the car to this point but was considering using so I would like to establish my baseline with premix if I am to go that route.... What say you?

A little bit of premix can't hurt anything. 1/4-1/2 oz per gallon is about right. You going to the dyno with the stock ecu? I'd put some 100 in the tank for some safety margin. Then again, I ride around on 100.
Fuzzy math: Every 3 gallons of 100 raises your tank by 1 octane point (assuming a full tank, mixed with 93 octane).

I appreciate that. She's fixing to get all my attention as I go through it. I my be dating myself here but I used to ride in this very car standing between (in the rear) the two front seats as my grand father drove the car. Lots of memories for me cruising around in this bird. To be honest it was actually grandmas daily, hence the condition.

I like the look and it actually will look better when I powder coat the pipes black I think. It's growing on me and I don't even have it yet.

You might want to request one, I went to order one and they say they are sold out. I requested one be made. You may want to do the same unless you got one already... maybe if they see multiple orders they will fire up the press.

Been slacking here. Life is keeping me busy with lots of distractions and surprise projects falling in my lap. Wrapping up a Jeep Rubicon, working on the Ducati, son getting married and work is busy. None the less I found some more parts laying around that need to be installed. I forgot my antenna started acting up and would only go up half way. I saw an old post somewhere that pointed out that a Miata antenna could be substituted so I picked one up last year and forgot all about it. Here it is ready to be put on when I do the fuel pump.
