quick question:
the wiring for the dome light in the headliner, does it feed down the DS or PS pillar?
I didn't take it out and I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty sure it's the DS because I don't see any connectors on the PS for it, which conveniently is the way it fell when I was putting it back in.

also, if someone could help me out as I'm trying to wire my car back up, I just need a picture of both kick panels with the kick panels removed so I can take a gander of how the wiring is supposed to be mounted and all the schnazz. (and kinda see where the connections go, lol)

If I saw this yesterday I would've taken the pictures for you when I got home. I won't see the car for a week now. I have the wiring diagrams in PDF if you need them, they give a good idea of routing and where things plug in. PM me if you want it and I can email it to you.
I'm excited to see this car on the road. I thought I was persistent when it came to getting my FD (actually 2 FDs turned into one) on the road. When it came to the point of either clip the car like you or buy another and have parts to spare I caved and went the easy route. I envy your work to fix this car and really make the drive-train flawless.

Been working on the car off and on over the past couple days. Dipping in and out of the rain so I could get about an hour work sessions in between showers. Been pretty crazy here down in NC.
This is what I'm thinking for some oil cooler fans. At $50 a piece, can't hurt.

How she sits most of the time: I put rags on top of the jack stands so I don't screw up the freshly painted pinch welds.
Got my beltlines in, install was a breeze but took a minute as I wanted to be careful
Just waiting for the engine. Still trying to figure out how to get the steering rack out. My tie rod ends do not want to move. I also send out the sway bar brackets, sway bar mounting brackets and steering rack hold downs off to get powder coated
I'm not kidding when I say I get everything powder coated
Nice clean under body. Got the heat shields all mounted. Still have to mount to most rearward one but can't yet as I sent the exhaust hanger brackets to get powder coated, lol
Got my damn near new fuse box from Jim Thompson, aka toms16. Slapped that in real quick and wired everything else up. Also got the dome light wiring back on the right side (DS) and wired it up.
My vapor barriers were torn to shreds. I also wanted to remove all that gunk that seals them to the door. Cleaned up real nice. You can see where the PO cut out the door panel to fit 1" tweeters; kinda overkill if you ask me, it's a huge hole.
Finished up the wiring of the front harness. Of course I integrated the airbag under the fender as it should have been ran that way from the factor instead of through the engine bay.
PO strikes again....trying to source only a fuse/relay box. Proving to be difficult since I don't need the whole front harness.
Just taking care of the little things right now as I'm waiting on MAD parts. Bryan at BNR is taking his sweet time with getting my turbos shipped out. They were supposed to be mailed last Friday, but now won't be mailed until Monday; hopefully for real this time.
I had to order another batch of just bolts and nuts to get rid of all the nasty ones everywhere! So far I've spent $300 just on nuts and bolts to replace every one that I come in contact with.
I'm right on my timeline to get this baby running by the end of the month. Still got a bunch of parts to order but that can wait until next paycheck. I might want to order the RE-A twin dolphin tail exhaust now as it'll probably take a few weeks to get here anyways.
Getting the itch to go in!!

Couple updates today. Got the transmission back in, it was literally a PITA because it just did not want to balance on my jack for whatever reason. It def took a can of m-a-n but I eventually got it all in and bolted up along with the PPF and driveshaft.

btw, I'm happy with how pretty the clutch is even though you'll never see it. however, I'm disappointed that exedy, after paying $1200 for a new clutch, didn't even bother to include a new pilot and throw out bearing....my $600 ACT clutch in my CYM came with new ones, even though I hate it.

Is the reason you didn't mate the trans and motor outside the car the pull type clutch? I know they're different, but is it the case that they you need to do it this way or was it just preference?

Plus, my engine stand wouldn't be able to handle both the motor and tranny together. The hoist would take up more space having them together.
This way, I can just slap the motor in when it's ready.
It honestly has nothing to do with the clutch action.

Couple updates:
I got a new fuse box from Fritz, the keeper of parts that Ray can't get. I had to depin my old one. Took a bit of finesse and patience but I eventually got it all disconnected without breaking anything
My little gauge workstation. Tomorrow on my day off i'll be wiring all of this up and i'll document exactly how I did it.
Mounted the HKS twinpower. I had an extra spacer lying around from the frame slider package on my old GSXR, worked perfectly.
Finally ordered the RE-A twin dolphin tail exhaust yesterday. We'll see how long it takes to get here.

As I'm writing this, there is something on the UPS truck we can all appreciate.....i'll get pics of it up when it comes.
Also, I did get my carpet in today. While I like the new carpet fabric, I was kind of disappointed that not even 1 hole was cut for anything, ie: shifter, seat rails....anything. I PM'd another forum member that got the same carpet and he said that he loved it and that it fit perfectly. He did say that some trimming was required but I at least though that there would be some holes so it would at least match OEM. I guess my definition of some trimming is different than his. I'll post pics of that later after I get it completely out of the box and further inspect it.

There is one thing that bothers me though....lets see if you can point out what's wrong with it.

i must say i'm not a fan of the complication of the PFC / datalogit / HKS twin power / plx gauge box 1 / box 2 / box 3
it's a little "after the fact" now, but have you considered doing something a little simpler like this?

the reason I went with the PLX setup is because I only wanted 1 gauge. I didn't want a plethora of gauges displaying everything I needed to know. The PLX gauge can display 4 things at once so I went with that.
I will give it to you though, I don't like all the wiring involved or how complicated it is. But, it will all be hidden like I wanted. I did end up moving the datalogit to under the modules and will only be used during tuning or logging. Otherwise, I can take it out and use the Commander.
I also want to maintain the original interior, hence why I only wanted 1 gauge. There is some give and take here because I do have 1 gauge and will also have the Commander on display.

I have been working on a few other things though:
I did the fuel pump rewire and I'm currently installing the Aeromotive 340 stealth pump
And, I now want to monitor oil temperature. So, another temperature sensor from PLX is on the way and since the PLX module can monitor 2 temperature sensors, I don't need another box which is nice, I just have to wire it up. But I went with the banjo fitting from corksport. I didn't want a new oil filter pedestal.
And FINALLY. After 2 months of waiting patiently....the BNR TURBOS. I'm actually really excited about these. But Bryan...put the stamp on the rear turbo
The engine will go in tonight so I can mock up where I'm going to weld up the wideband bung. Then it's all easy road from here, lol.
