That's one way to get it done. How do they reinforce the joints? I understand that they say it's all coming apart at the seams but I know this is going to need some reinforcement, I have to believe that something got cut instead of taken apart somewhere. The car would not have been designed with joints right in the middle.

No disrespect intended just honestly curious.

of course, but they only did it when they had to; hence the staggered cuts so they could weld everything back together.

this also happened just a couple days ago so they're not quite finished yet.

Great job on the car. was looking rough at first. Glad you hung in there. This will all pay off in the end. And it's winter anyways:/

I got the printouts of the frame measurements before and after. While they still aren't quite finished tweaking it, it's looking really good!

Before: REALLY BAD!!

After: Still needs a lil nudge on the PS front but right now is within tolerance

looking good though!

thanks for all the support guys!

so this is what I worked on today:

nasty, greasy, grimy PS pump

same for the AC compressor

TADAA!

where I left off for the night

after the ABS is done, I've only the alternator left, which is probably going to IRP to get an upgrade.

I also have a surprise coming within the next month or so!!

holy ****.
i gotta say, you have some huge ***** sending that car to get cut in half and re-stitched and aligned.

very impressive. looks like those guys really know their ****.

i am still curious as to the cost of that vs swapping all your parts into a decent roller.

in for more updates!

Im glad to see a nice update in all this! Looks incredible. I suggest pc'ing the filler neck black, just in case you need a second opinion.

Nice! In for the build. Those frame alignment computers work wonders don't they?

How did you get the A/C compressor so clean? Teach me your ways

Thanks for the props!

engine degreaser and an old toothbrush for cleaning all my parts. Just make sure you get all the degreaser off before painting (wiping it down and then with air). The AC compressor is a pain because there is a lot of small spaces for gunk to hide. I was going to actually paint the center steel part of the AC compressor to match the motor, lol...but I figured it was too much work for something that no one's going to see.

Then again...I still might

Yea that's bent like that to match the angle that the head unit is mounted in.

the stereo that in the car is garbage anyways so I'm just going to replace the stereo and pick up a new harness for it while I'm at it.

been kinda slow for the past couple days....waiting on stuff to get powder coated and waiting on a whole bunch of new zinc plated bolts....it's turning into one of those, "I can't do this until I do that" build....

but this is what I've been working on the past couple days:

my wife actually stripped out the whole harness and I unpinned all the unnecessary connectors and what nots its from the ECU connection. she did a really good job since I did NOT feel like dealing with that garbage.

but here it is damn near fully stripped to operate in sequential. makes it really simple when you clean all the junk out; there's really only a handful of connectors

what made me lose my mind for the longest time was the coolant level sensor that only passes through the engine harness and connects to the body harness on the DS.....for about an hour I was like WTF is this? where the hell does this *%(#) go?!

ohhhhhhh, I'm an idiot, lol
