That's one way to get it done. How do they reinforce the joints? I understand that they say it's all coming apart at the seams but I know this is going to need some reinforcement, I have to believe that something got cut instead of taken apart somewhere. The car would not have been designed with joints right in the middle.
No disrespect intended just honestly curious.

working on the engine today to finish up a major part I've been slacking on...... measuring the sizes of the nuts and bolts I need to replace because they're all rusty and nasty looking:
what I have so far:

the progress on the engine so far (got my IRP oil filler neck!!)
still debating whether or not I want to powder coat the oil filler neck....

and a room full of interior parts.....yay, soooo not looking forward to putting this back in

so today, I'll be working on tearing down the turbos to get some parts off to get powder coated...need to get another table

holy ****.
i gotta say, you have some huge ***** sending that car to get cut in half and re-stitched and aligned.
very impressive. looks like those guys really know their ****.
i am still curious as to the cost of that vs swapping all your parts into a decent roller.
in for more updates!

engine degreaser and an old toothbrush for cleaning all my parts. Just make sure you get all the degreaser off before painting (wiping it down and then with air). The AC compressor is a pain because there is a lot of small spaces for gunk to hide. I was going to actually paint the center steel part of the AC compressor to match the motor, lol...but I figured it was too much work for something that no one's going to see.
Then again...I still might

What do you plan on doing to address the cut stereo connectors?

been kinda slow for the past couple days....waiting on stuff to get powder coated and waiting on a whole bunch of new zinc plated bolts....it's turning into one of those, "I can't do this until I do that" build....
but this is what I've been working on the past couple days:
my wife actually stripped out the whole harness and I unpinned all the unnecessary connectors and what nots its from the ECU connection. she did a really good job since I did NOT feel like dealing with that garbage.
but here it is damn near fully stripped to operate in sequential. makes it really simple when you clean all the junk out; there's really only a handful of connectors

what made me lose my mind for the longest time was the coolant level sensor that only passes through the engine harness and connects to the body harness on the DS.....for about an hour I was like WTF is this? where the hell does this *%(#) go?!
ohhhhhhh, I'm an idiot, lol
