Other alternatives included Hawk Blues and DS2500 (which I also hated on street and track when I ran it on my FD)
.
If one wants to try Hawks, try the more modern DTC family of pads. I used the DTC 60s on the front of my Spec Miata. The bite is similar to the XP12s. I don't remember what noise levels were like with the DTC60s on the street....
I have been saying since at least 2007... "I want to finish building my car and i want to a big euro trip with many tracks involved" then my car burned down, and I started over. With the exception of the clutch because it is unknown territory to me i think the car is perfectly capable to pull this off. Obviously, I am not going for any sort of "lap record" pushing the car to the maximum type of deal as I also need to bring it back home safely and in one piece. So, the plan is to be conservative within reason.
With the little I have seen from these clutches, what you posted appears to be the 7.25" clutch...
X-clutch offers the same system with the sprung hub. I need to call and see if they offer it for the nissan input shaft and whether they would sell it to me without the flywheel

Hope you can make that road trip! Bucket list of a trip!
Has anyone considered the new line of ACT twin disk clutches? I loved my old ACT street/strip I ran for years with an SR 9.5lb flywheel, but it was deemed borderline for the single turbo and I've missed it ever since. I'm pretty sure ACT could give you one for the Nissan input shaft.
X-clutch offers a 7.25" clutch that is sprung. pretty pricey from what i am seeing.
I thought, this is a complete kit for another car. let me see if i can call them and see if they offer this without the flywheel..
After multiple calls to X-clutch Usa with no response I thought that this is a dead-end
I called Clutch Masters instead and after a long discussion with the representative I determined that no matter what i will get in the 7.25" size, it wont be street/traffic friendly. so its a drag clutch size, on/off style . it just wont work.
The representative told me that if i go for a 8.5" clutch instead there are many options available to make it nice, as opposed to just livable.
I reached out to Fisch to see if they could provide me with the 8.5" flywheel. Immediate response. they gave me all the information and i am ready to replace my 7.25" flywheel to a 8.5" multi clutch flywheel...
Fisch has never let me down. The customer service is just PHENOMENAL.
So the ACT twin @Howard Coleman CPR (thank you Howard) recommended may become a reality, or another system either from Clutch Masters or even a different company.
So in the process of prepping the car for the transmission swap. I needed to source a final gear that is significantly taller than the 4.77 i currently have. Its funny how a few years back the 4.77 was the hottest ring and pinion and i had a hard time finding one because Mazda had discontinued it. A few years prior to that, the 4.3 was the one to get ... now the one to get is the 3.9 if you are doing the CD009 or similar swap....
The 3.63 final gear from Neat gearboxes is a great option but due to the high price (due to the small production), shipping, tariffs. it makes the price unrealistically high
I figured I needed to compromise with a much more accessible and obtainable option, the 3.9:1 from the automatic.... Accessible and obtainable, or so i thought !
over the years i was browsing the Japanese auctions, the forums, eBaY and others I would often see a 3.9:1 final gear for sale.. I remember in the auctions in particular i would see them sell for less than 10,000 yen, which is a current rate of approximately $65. By the time a forwarding agent gets it, with fees, commissions, shipping fees within Japan, and then international shipping the price normally triples . so a couple of hundred bucks for a 3.9 final gear is pretty good....
I pointed one that was for sale on the Japanese auctions a few months ago to a fellow forum member who needed one for his swap, and I figured, when its time for me to do the swap , i will get one the same way .... Well the time came and went and the 3.9:1 final gears are nowhere to be found anymore.
so in my search to locate one Mr @SETaylor comes to the rescue and provides me with a super clean rear diff as he switched to a Ford 8.8 in his insane 3rotor build! ... Thankfully Simon lives about an hour and a half away. I stopped by and picked up the rear diff...
I took it all apart, cleaned it up and it will be ready to go on.... A new set of bearings and seals shipped from Mr. Ray Crowe the next day and I am very happy with the outcome...
New Titanium Lug nuts and Titanium hardware for the intake manifold
I had used the Recaro Japan seat rails for my Pole position ABE. I had made side mounts to for the ABE's to fit in. I liked the ABE's but in my eyes nothing beats the Recaro TSG (or RSG) for the interior of the FD. I had lost some weight and i was able to fit back in the TSG seats so I ended up reinstalling those but those Recaro Rails are so much better than my Nagisa ones ... So I will be installing the Recaro Side mounts on the TS-G.
A problem with these is that these seat rails were only made for the RHD driver.. I believe the seat rail will fit both the driver and the passenger but the seat belt receptable is only available for the driver side. it is a very simple bracket. I should be able to mirror it and replicate it easily as it is a very simple bracket.
