Thanks, I think I am going to push the radiator forward and make some custom mounts. A front mount looks like its the only option.
Whats everyones thoughts on -16 radiator hose ? I have half commited to running it as I have the fancy XRP hypalon hoses I really wanted to use but reading more info suggests its a bad idea due to the diameter reduction.
Ive been looking at some of BMW's Water to air systems that could be adapted as I'm sure I could tuck that in the front .... would the plazmaman FMIC be sufficient for a stockish 20B.
I will just be running NA to get it up and running.

a v-mount is possible, especially if you went with a EWP. another option, which I'm pursuing currently is to use an RX8 water pump. It's a bit slimmer than the FD unit, but does require some "heavy" modifications to the RX8 front cover as the water pump housing is part of the front cover casting. Link to my 20B with RX8 coolant gear if you're interested.

I did have an EWP and single pulley on the previous configuration but I decided to go to the OEM pump so I get to use all the factory power steering / AC again. No power steering and A/C sucks. I figure its less work to make a rad / intercooler fit than try and re-engineer the system that works from factory. I've read through your build and its great, your setup though sits further back and you are not running the extra pulley on the front so you have more room. I think I would need to go back to the drawing board instead of trying to make this blitz cooler work.
Any chance I could get a copy of that 3D scan of your engine bay in your build thread ?

agreed, You'll notice I also switched back from an EWP setup. I'm sure it has it's place, but the 20B isn't a test bed I'm willing to play around with it on. I agree, it's hard to argue with an OEM set-up and having the engine back an addition 3" was well worth the effort it took. But likely hard to justify making that change if you're just trying to get up and running.

I'm happy to share any info I have. shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do.

Spent a fair amount of time messing around with an RX8 radiator setup. This seems like an appealing option as the fans are reputably more efficient and much slimmer than the FD. The end tank design is more 'traditional' than the stepped down FD air scoop cutout and the outlet / inlet are in a more favorable position. Also bolt on RX8 AC condenser ! The RX8 is slightly taller by an inch or so.
I wouldn't go to the hassle to reengineer one over in a factory situation but if I am custom mounting anyway its no further effort on my part.

RX8 Fans don't foul pulley on angle orientation

Did you make those hose brackets yourself? Looks really good.

Yes if you mean the radiator brackets ? Maybe overkill but that's how I like making things.
