Leave at 9AM drive up I-85North into SC
Exit 1 - Turn Left onto SC 11 ( Cherokee Foothills Scenic Hwy. for 47 miles
Turn Left onto US 178W for 15 miles into NC
Turn Right follow US 178N into Rosman
Turn Right onto US 64E - 8 miles to Brevard, NC
We can meet others driving from Asheville if they want to come down off the parkway into Brevard for lunch.

Holly I can lead a group down there and meet up with you all. I'll be starting out from
Asheville with Tray but then I can split off on 276 and come down to Brevard to meet
up then drive on out to the campsite.

We have a few weeks to figure it all out

Brett - we made a stop up in Commerce last year at the Wal-Mart for initial supplies for the trip. We can do that again. Plus we will probably meet up with Kevin and Lindsay up there.
Mike and Marco - We can start the initial drive by meeting at Twisted Tavern to gather everyone from across the Atlanta area.
Tim - I was hoping you would come down from the parkway to meet us for lunch. Should we meet at the same wal-mart from last year? I think I can find the address where Tray posted it.
Tray - save me a prime campsite.

I spoke to Tim in NC today and he is driving down from the Parkway to meet our Atlanta Caravan the Wal-mart in Brevard, NC where we met up last year. We want to be there at 11:00AM and leave at NOON to head back up to the Parkway, so that we can enjoy the drive, maybe make a few stops, then get to camp to set up.

This way we can pick up last minute supplies at the wal-mart, eat lunch if you brought it, or buy lunch in the area.

I need to take a look at the drive again and decide the time we will be leaving Twisted Tavern parking lot. I'm thinking approximately 8am. Details to follow.

I'm planning to bring a tent, sleeping stuff, some clothes, and a cooler with drinks/ snacks. That sound sufficient? Anything any of you recommend I bring?

Brett bring plenty of blankets, clothes, whatever to keep you warm. 8:30AM sounds about right.

8:00AM Leave Twisted Tavern( I-85N, Exit 111) parking lot - so arrive with your gas tank topped off and ready to leave by 8:00AM
Stop at Commerce exit off of I-85N for Brett to join the caravan. ONLY a quick stop, should arrive approximately 8:30AM

11:00AM We are meeting Tim and the others who drove from Asheville, that want to drive down off the parkway into Brevard for lunch. Also Reese and Nicole driving up from SC are meeting us too.

Let's keep the lunch stop simple...

Wal-Mart is at the intersection of NC 280, US 64, NC 276...

We will do lunch in Brevard. Right near the Bottom of HWY 276 there are several places to eat fast food. We don't all have to eat at the same place, most places are within sight of one another. I am going to pack my lunch. Also you can pick up last minute purchases at the Walmart here too. We can regroup at NOON after everyone has eaten, then head back up to the parkway, maybe make a few stops and enjoy the scenery, and get to Smokemount campsite in Cherokee, NC before 3PM
