i think people don't understand how much work goes into owning a shop, especially one with a reputable name but not a ton of resources. **** happens. Obviously BDC isn't trying to **** you over.

It's nice that everyone is coming to BDC's defense.. he is a good guy and does quality work.... However the OP does have a legitimate claim. He paid for and supplied parts and in return he has not received what was promised.
Yes owning and operating your own shop is tough and **** happens but regardless BDC has to step up and do something... and it seems to be clear that BDC recognizes that... Hopefully this will be over and done with soon.

i own 3 business, i deal with people all day long, if i did this to any of my customers they would drop me in a heartbeat.
i have had bad things happen in business even things similar to this but the difference between me and you is i communicated with my customers i didn't leave them hanging.
when you take someone's money and you live across the country and you are suppose to send them something or perform a service for them but then you don't return phone calls or emails, it feels like a typical internet rip off scheme. something we are probably all too familiar with.

You got an inmediate response, an apology and resolution to your problem, plus reimbursed money to go along, What is your issue now???
