God I hope he isn't a real fireman.
And you did **** up this whole deal. A simple refund would have been easier than all this crap.
Also everyone is dwelling on the useless turbo. Remember there were other junk parts involved in the transaction.
I am glad I didn't buy those struts and springs from you.

Well that is your choice, the person who bought the springs and struts are very happy with them . And for the dumbass that cant read, there was NOTHING else that was not perfectly useable and ready to be run.
Thats why we are dwelling on it, because that is the only problem with it.
Kevin, just grow up, you are acting like your 3 year old is typing this.

The only part of the kit that didn't have a problem was the manifold.
I don't care if the downpipe made 900rwhp at idle...I would not put that thing in the back of a partscar. Who wants a 3" downpipe that narrows to 2.5" at the bottom? The top half of the pipe, which is the ONLY part I could see in your pics, looked excellent; the lower 66% looked like horseshit and it had to be detrimental to flow.
The wastegate had both air nipples broken off flush. IT was also ghetto rigged on with a rough steel plate that wasn't even machined flat. Someone had used RTV sealant instead of an exhaust gasket...we all know how hot rotaries get in their exhausts, so for you to sit there and tell me this is not an issue is retarded. And yes, it was an exhaust leak, because on the adaptor plate you could clearly see carbon having been sprayed out in a big "V" pattern where the RTV got melted away.
And the turbo, well that's been covered.
So, this awesome JDM mad tyte DORIFTO kit that you sold me consisted of a useable SSautochrome manifold with 2) 2" beads of weld placed there to correct previous cracking. This manifold can be purchased brand new for $175 any day of the week.

Red Xs are a shame? You are probably seeing the same thing i am and just want to bitch and say **** to me. As we have stated before, kevin expects perfect for nothing, and its not going to happen. When he does a budget build, and builds a motor for say $1500...i will bet my *** he does NOT use ALL new parts, to make that motor look like new. That buyer made me expecting better, but what are they gonna say for a $1500 motor? Nothing, the same thing you should be doing, you got a KIT, a FULL KIT for $700...what did you expect?

charlies7, you don't have a dog in this race, please see your way out of the thread. You're contributing nothing useful to the discussion, it's clear you're turbodrx7's butt buddy and you will agree with whatever he says. We know your stance on the issue.

Well the fact that he edited it was kind of classy and you STILL posting it is what I call "Trashy" .
Just because someone doesn't agree with your viewpoint or jump to your side doesn't mean you need to start giving them a hard time. Once Charlie started opposing your thoughts on this "questionable transaction" (which you yourself started out by saying was only questionable, nothing more) you decided his input was no longer needed and tried to kick him out of your thread. E-thug.......

Lives on the Forum
That turbo is no good, period.
Call it "damage" or "blown", it's all still the same - it's a door stop at best.
Now, anyone with a decent amount of turbo experience should be able to tell just by spinning the wheels.
There's going to be contact with all that damage - it's obvious from the pics.
Now, I'm sure the seller is going to argue that they couldn't detect this just from spinning the wheels - chalk it up to inexperience?
This is why buying used turbos is always a gamble.
I've shy'd away from some many used turbo "deals" it's not even funny.
You see them all over eBay too.
I've bought two turbos off of eBay, and I've got lucky on both - most due to be really skeptical on most of those "deals".
Now it comes down to who owes what...
That needs to be discussed between the seller and the buyer only.
If *I* was the seller, I would've refunded the full amount just to save face and salvage a reputation.
The story and pics work against the seller, and arguing against RR is not a smart thing to do.
...IMO.
