Unfortunately nothing at this point. Scott has voluntarily removed himself from this forum, no activity this month, so banning does nothing, although it's warrented. I doubt Jon will see any of his money either, but we can still hope.
I like the change of pace; the scammers are getting weeded out.

I wanted to see what I could do for Scott. I work in St Joseph Missouri and thought I would see if I could help him resolve this matter and to see if he was ok. Scott really is in pain and not doing well. He had his internet and phone turned off. I'm not sure if it is still off or not. I wanted to see if he had any odd jobs he needed help with and to try and get him a job where I work at the hospital. Based on his physical limitations, all of the jobs would not work. I'm still trying to help in this respect. I needed some help with an axel so I thought I would ask him for his knowledge more then anything. I beleive he trying but he doesn't have alot. I will continue to help him where I can.
I've had similar situations where people have owed me money so I know how it feels. There is no excuse. The only thing I'm trying to do is give him the means to help pay, but it hasn't worked very well. My gut feeling tells me that he will have to start selling some of his stuff (like has panel truck, widebody, etc) to get this resolved.
I've only talked to him a few times in person but do consider him a friend regardless of the situation.

The change of pace took place many months ago when I took over the BG forum and received authorization to do whatever it takes to resolve matters. It may not do anything to issue a temp ban on Scott but it sets an example as did the others that I banned that we cannot accept any excuses when it comes to these matters.

He put the truck up on Ebay, and could have been out of this mess had he accepted the 4k or whatever it was that it sold for. Yes it would have been "lowballing" compared to his reserve, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
I have heard absolutely nothing from him since the auction. Not a word, not a penny, not a thing. I'm still as pissed as ever about what happened, especially him selling the rims and keeping the money. If you know where he lives and are close, then you have an advantage that I lack. It would cost me more than the thousand dollars he owes me to get my *** down there and back.
Just think of what you would do if he owed YOU money. You get the idea.
I'll tell ya what: Anyone who can get Scott to do whatever he has to do and paypal me my thousand bucks back, I will turn around and give $250 of it to them. So the first person to get trochoid to paypal me a grand gets $250 for his efforts. I think that's a reasonable offer.

I obviously don't *expect* you to do that, but if someone did do that, I would be forever greatful (and would definitely give you the $250 for your troubles)
The problem is that he has no motivation to actually do anything. As it is he doesn't care that he's banned from the forum, and the fact that he owes me money doesn't affect his day-to-day life at all. Until I either get lawyers and cops on his ***, or someone goes over there and talks (smacks) some sense into him, he'll just go on his merry way not paying me back because he has no reason to.
I can't ask anyone to smack sense into him, so I'll ask that someone try to persuade him by whatever means you can.

Jon,
Honestly, you need to get police or an attorney involved right now. Don't wait around any longer. I think offering somebody 250.00 is a rather pathetic thing to have to do (not attacking you directly) to get any type of resolve out of the issue.

The fact that I live in another country, hundreds of kilometres away from the guy is what makes it difficult. Hence me making the offer.
If it was as easy as making a phone call to a lawyer and saying "here's what I've got, sic 'em!" and be able to include lawyer fees in the suit then that would be no problem. As it is I may do it anyway despite the fact that it would eat all the money he owes me just to get it taken care of, but at least some form of justice would be served.
I'm exhausting all available options before I go there. If that means offering $250 to anyone who can fix this locally without me having to fly down, then that's what I'll do.
If anyone in the area could get me more info on the legal process there, I'm having trouble finding stuff online. That would help too.

I live near him, but I am busy with so many other things. I can try to get some information for you. My family lives in Missouri, and my Uncle has alot of connections in St.Louis Metro area, so I can ask him about a few things of what you can do.
Just send me a brief PM of the transaction. Date, amount, product, payment made with, etc. Just basic stuff, and I will see what I can do.
