Sigh. This is why you don't use moneygram. (Rx7myke)

So i've been in the market for the last couple of months for a new s5 t2 engine. i finally decided to buy it from michael mallette aka rx7myke.

i negotiated to buy his long block streetported t2 engine stemming from this thread.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=763533

The negotiation came to be 1250 shipped to my residence. Now he said he was going to ship the ecu and wiring harness seperately by usps using this tracking number

0307 1790 0001 7966 1883

and it looks like it's on the way. The thing that's bugging me is that "michael" is dodging all his calls. And what irks me the most is that i had to send the money through moneygram. And i tried to avoid this situation by using paypal but this guy insists that he doesn't have one.

on top of the 1250 i had to drop down another 70 just to send it through.

I might be sounding irrational but i've been calling since 06/25/08 and he left me a voice mail that same day since i missed his call i suppose. but he hasnt answered my calls since. and i know he's hit ignore a couple of times on purpose.

He has not sent me a tracking number for dhl, which he is using for shipping hte engine and i'm getting irritated because i feel that i was duped. Argh

How long should i wait for him to respond before i call it a scam? i'm thinking i should wait to see what's coming in the usps package. RAWR.

I think the worse part of it all is that i recently quit my job to go back to school full time. And this is going to hit me hard. I was looking foward to spending the next few weeks getting my car ready to run as smoothly as possible to even attend sevenstock. z0mg. man im just upset.

I JUST WANT COMMUNICATION YANNO?

DHL is usually the shipping choice of scammers because of some loophole they can exploit (not 100% sure on the details, though...I'm not a scammer).

Man, I don't know....I'd be worried ASAP, though. Do something about it before it's too late. I'm sure Roller will come in here soon and let you know what you should do. To me and my skeptic mind, this has scam written all over it....Moneygram, inactive tracking number, mentions of DHL, dodging phone calls, low-post count, etc. Sounds really bad. Hope you get it straightened out!

Is there any way i can pinpoint where this guy is? That way i can go right to his doorstep and collect either a)my engine or b) my money. With no conflict involved. i think he'd be suprised that i actually found him after giving me a fake address.

Money gram = disaster. I would never do business that way. Take this as a really expensive lesson. Hopefully you do get your money back, but I wouldn't count on it. Another option local (to mike) cops. They may help put pressure on him.

I never do moneygram either. I guess i was just desperate. If i dont hear or get an engine by the end of the week then i'm going to the authorities. Unless they don't feel like doing crap. Then im screwed.

I would get a jump start on it. The odds of your engine coming are slim.

Hopefully he's doing what he said he's doing and is moving and maybe not his fault he cant be in contact with you.
Its been what, 17days. I've had sunglasses that have taken a month to arrive from two provinces over.
I've also moved a dozen times and know how hectic it can be.

If it doesnt show up and your other stuff does, just see where it comes from, contact that police department, and see what they can do.

Ok to catch everyone up here's the jist of the details.

Never received a tracking number.
He's dodging calls.
Received the seperate usps package he sent (So there's still a chance)
I filed a police report for possible fraud today.
Gave them both his fake addresses.
Thanks to Doc, I got every isp he ever used here, so i'll be forwarding that to the fraud department.

I'm looking to finding him...and if he decided he wanted to be a little ***** and keep the engine, I will prosecute him to the fullest extent i possible can.

I have put a temporary ban on him and left a message on his voice mail phone and also sent an email.

He was on line yesterday and did not get in contact with xeccentric.

yeah, i don't feel too bad because i know he's gonna get caught. He left to many clues as to his whereabouts. Like i said, there is an upside to using moneygram. They make copies of IDs

I've got to head out the door in a few, but in the morning when I get home I will do some checking into the info you have posted and let you know what I find. I have a couple of suspicions that need to be confirmed about this guy....
