JREED doesn't pay!!!
Title says it all!
I sold him a transmission for $100 and he didn't pay for it.
I actually drove a total of about 4 hours to get it to him and when I showed up, he says " I don't have any money right now I will have to mail it to you".
Being a naive person, I told him to paypal the money to me when he can. I thought that would mean like a week or two.
IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS!!!!
I have pm'd him numerous times, asked him if the install went well, etc. He has had a few excuses, but never paid me one cent!
He finally responds with a note saying he is going to pay me, but that the transmission was all messed up. He stated that the starter bolt holes were stripped and the clutch slave cylinder holes were messed up.
The transmission was just taken out of my car (for a turbo swap). The slave cylinder was still attached to the transmission when I delivered it to him(presumably from the factory when new). The starter bolts were not messed up when I took the starter out.
He stated that it cost him "$150 to fix". <-- that is bull ****! Run a tap through it if there is a problem!
This past week he said he was going to send me $85 through paypal. I requested that he send me $100 + paypal fees.
I have not heard anything from him since!
I have his address and phone number if anybody else has been ripped off by him!

I would have waited until he had the money, but I didn't think he would show up without the money!
I wasn't going to drive the whole way there and not give him the tranny.
I guess I should have!

Yeah...Join Date: Apr 2008 and you're already pulling **** like this on here. Keep your word and you wouldnt be in this situation. And you're right....we dont ******* care what your excuse is. The people on this forum are sick of scammers constantly coming here and using the same bullshit excuse when they get called out....."but even if i tried to explain what happened".

I am sorry about the helicoil situation. However, I think you are a victim here also. Helicoils for the 1 set of threads in the starter mounting area and if need be both helicoils for the slave cylinder should have been about $20-$30 dollars max! (You can even buy them at advance auto).
I would have disclosed that infomation about the tranny, if I was aware, but seeing as I never took the slave cylinder off, I wasn't aware of that situation. I also was not aware of the starter thread issue! (You are aware the one hole is a through hole, and does not have threads.)
Does your car run now? I hope it does!
Just get back to me and let me know when I can expect payment. When the payment is received, we can put all of this behind us and get these posts deleted!
Thanks!

Both parties were wrong. I would never give someone anything without paying me first. I would only do that if it were a close friend who needed some parts. Also if someone can't fork over 100 bucks in a 2 month time span must be broke as hell. Dont commit to something if you dont have the money.
Dam this section is filling up with this crap everyday. Its near depressing.

We wouldn't think of you as a "dead-beat" if you actually came in here and responded with some civility. Instead, it's been 2 months since the OP gave you his transmission. He was honest and trusting enough to believe you'd actually pay him. (WHY the F#*k would you even show up for a business transaction w/out the money to complete that transaction?!?). And then you come in this thread and start spewing "F-bombs". You're definitely *NOT* a dead-beat

Lets see what would you do if u and i got in the same situation. You WOULDNT even think to give me the part.
wvumtnbkr you just learned a 100$ lesson. it could have been a lot worse but lets hope you learned for next time. I know it sucks but i believe for the most part its your fault

alright, lets try to make some sense of this.
first, when did this deal take place originally? I am guessing that you brought him the tranny sometime in june, but when?
next, to the buyer, I noticed that you were trying to buy some other parts back then as well....you asked a seller about his seats and cruise control on 6/14....you asked for pics of a $220 koyo radiator someone was selling on 6/16....you asked a seller for pics of a tower bar and RB header he was selling on 6/20.....you told another seller on 6/25 that you would buy wheel caps and a flywheel stopper from him.....and yet, while youre buying or looking to buy these parts in the second half of june, you didnt have the money to pay this seller at that same time for the tranny he drove all that way to bring to you.
Now, please tell me why something doesnt add up. And before you try to get all mad at me, relax--these ARE all true about your activities on the forum at that time, are they not? You dont have a reason to get steamed at me unless i made those up. and you know i didnt...
now for everyone blaming the seller, give it a rest already. Was it smart to trust a noob like that? No, of course not. but that doesnt make him "at fault"--he trusted someone at his word. That doesnt mean he deserved to not get paid or that he is to blame. when a man gives his word, it should mean something. He trusted the guy--while not the smartest move, it certainly doesnt warrant the comments some of you have posted. Let's cut the drama and keep it simple, please.
The only thing left to discuss is how this will get resolved. Buyer--the things you claimed were wrong with that transmission didnt require $150 to fix IMO. You cannot fault the seller because you chose to spend more money than you needed to spend to fix that. That was your choice, not his doing. In the end, you got a transmission that you knew to be used for FREE--and youre complaining because it wasnt perfect? What you need to do is pay this man his money and leave it at that. at $100, plus having it delivered to your door at no extra cost, you got a bargain even if the helicoils really were bad--be honest there and pay the man what you owe him. if youve got money to shop on this forum for seats, a radiator, header, and other parts, youve got money to pay him. I want to see a plan posted here to have him paid within three weeks, and I want to see it posted here before the weekend is out. if youre shopping for parts, you shouldnt have a problem paying him back. If three weeks is legitimately not enough time, then PM me to discuss it further.
At this point, no one other than the buyer and the seller should be posting in this thread, other than the mods trying to get this resolved. Let's keep our focus on what needs to be done now, we dont need another dozen people telling the seller he should not have trusted a noob. thanks for everyone's cooperation.

rx7roller02 you got pm.
I just wanted to point out that the buyer drove halfway to meet me. It was not delivered to his door. We both drove about 3 hours.
Thanks!
