The JKL Engineering situation. (A BAD SITUATION)
Figured people should be able to see what people have to say about this vendor in the appropriat area (also one that is not controlled by the vendor himself)
A while back I purchased the GTC "race type" front bumper from Kevin @ JKL.
deposit was sent, bumper was finished, final payment was made & bumper was shipped and recieved
I was happy at this point, then I dropped a $200.00 deposit on the race version splitter...
it hadn't been built yet (he was still working on filling orders out for the bumpers)
time went by, he contacted me about the splitter being prepped & ready to ship.
I was broke at the time. so I told him to bump me down the line & ship my part to someone else who placed their deposit after me.
later I got my finances under control & wanted to finish the purchase of the splitter. (a few weeks later)
I called, PM'd & emailed...
NOTHIN IN REPLY
I finally got so tired of waiting for the splitter, I traded up my bumper to another community member here locally.
I then emailed Kevin about refunding my deposit, or crediting my 200.00 deposit twards a bushing kit (that I was completely capable of completely purchasing at that time)
AND STILL NOTHING...
Later, I saw that the bushing were sold out of stock.
JKL has nothing to offer me anymore, worth my 200.00 deposit.
I'd just like my 200.00 back at this point.

I was part of a group buy in 2008-2009 for a Mazda GTC replica front bumper. The process was long and drawn out but Kevin appeared to be designing a good product. Prototype pictures showed good fitment as did pictures from the first couple delivered. I didn't get around to attempting to bolt mine on until Dec. 2009. I say attempted because it would not bolt up on the driver's side (car never wrecked). It will cost as much as the bumper to have a body shop make it fit correctly. Tried to contact JKL repeatedly through e-mail and phone to no avail.
In the meantime, I start noting several other problems with Mr. JKL "Kevin". The thread below captures the problems. No response to unsatisifed customers and $1,000's collected for parts never delivered. How this loser still has a private section on the forum, I don't know - I guess he's not too busy to pay that bill.

Looks like this loser continues to do business thru his website and ebay. Buyer beware.
