JDMEnthusiast - I'm not happy
In early July I bought a stock radiator from this seller for $40. I picked it up in person and apparently failed to make a thorough check of the radiator, but I was told it was in good working order. I will grant that that was my fault and I did not go about this as carefully as I should have. Yesterday, when I finally got to installing the radiator - it had sat in my garage in the meantime, experiencing no trauma whatsoever - I found that one of the mounting pegs was missing and there was a gaping hole in the bottom tank. The radiator wouldn't hold any water. I pm'ed JDMEnthusiast politely, asking that he refund my money or provide me with a functional radiator, and this was his response -
hi, sorry for what happen but when i gave it to you everything was good. i also told you to check it first before you pay me, and you confirm that everything was fine (than you took it). i sold it to you "as is". i can not warranty it as if it was a brand new part. really.....tho i can not refund it back.
Although this is perfectly civil and he is not really obligated to refund me, I would have made this right personally. I'm sure he's a good guy but if I had sold someone a bad part I would definitely correct my error. I'm not going to make a big fuss over $40, but more than anything this post should serve as a warning to buyers to carefully check parts before purchasing them and not take the seller's word for it.

Seeing as you were able to pick it up in person and that he did ask you to check it out before paying him I really find it hard to believe that he A: new it was broken, and B: thought you would not find the flaws. The radiator sat in your garage for over a month. If by some chance other people live with you don't you think it is possible someone within your household may have knowingly or unknowingly damaged it on accident?
Seems like both parties got a bad deal since you got stuck with $40 junk and he got a complaint posted up.

I know that the thing sat undisturbed for the duration and it must have been damaged when I received it but like I said since it's my word against his he doesn't strictly owe me anything. All I'm saying is if it was probable that I sold a junk part, I would make it right. Again, inspect things you pick up in person carefully - I screwed up by not doing so.
