FYI: Below is the e-mail that Chris sent to me and Smeagol. I agreed to the cash payments. He has only paid me $200. I should also note that one of the payments came from one of his buddies (not him) and had a message attached to it saying "This is for you to hush up about Chris owing you money". Man, even his friends are A$$e$!

Also, please note the very last paragraph. He asked that I keep this e-mail private... unless the terms were violated. Surprise, surprise... The terms were violated.

"email content removed for now"

Did you guys specify a pay up deadline?

The biggest problem here is it hurts you Chicago guys because people are going to be scared that Chris might be using different forum names yet still selling parts in Chicago and they're not gonna know if it's him selling the parts or one of you other Chicago guys. That sux.

Well...I'm sure that it will be pretty easy to tell whether it's him or someone else, especially given his recent registration date. Not to mention that IPs are easily tracked. I'm familiar with the vast majority of the locals so I'll be sure to keep an eye out.

I'm not busting on you guys, but even though I deal with mostly local guys here in Alabama I'm sure there are a lot more Chicago FD guys than what's been posting in this thread and how is the rest of the country supposed to know who is freinds with Chris and who isn't...maybe some of those are helping him out in his scamming. <---Devil's Advocate. Again not busting on you I'm just saying that Chris could be possibly making people think twice about buying from Chicago guys...that's all.

And did you say it's always the buyers fault? So you blame everyone here that got screwed by Chris instead of Chris himself? I know you don't because I've read your post about him in this thread and in others. Some people just trust (or hope) that someone in the same community (RX-7) wouldn't do these things. I hope he stops.

Yes you are right in that sense and i see where your coming from, that's why he needs to be stopped. He needs to pay back everyone he stole from. Its also funny how he wont even comment in any of these bad threads about him.

Merciless: Yes, the pay up deadline was 4/20/07. I have several e-mails and paypal notes that can verify the deadline... Given that the e-mail specifically states that I can take it public if he violated the terms, I think the e-mail should be re-posted.

The thing that pisses me off the most is now he's showing off his car on the forums... a car that contains parts (like the evo-r lights he took from me) that he hasn't paid for (i.e., he steals and lies).

Everyone needs to know that this guy makes himself 'sound' like a stand up guy. He gave me his word on at least 4 different occasions over the past 3-4 months that he would pay me (all of which, i can prove via e-mails). But obviously he never did...

He should be removed/prevented from using the forums anytime he is discovered using a new user name.

Again, please re-post the e-mail.

Subject: Re: Stealing from Rx7 forum members...

Brett and Mike,

As you both know I owe you booth money for parts that were either rejected by you or never made it to you. I would like to get this settled right away and have decided to write you both to find out what you think would be the best course of action from here on out. I have between $100-$200 each week to pay back after bills and living expenses. I would like to pay you both back right this minute and forget about this whole thing but I am not in that position. I have parts that I can send in place of money but that is up to you two weather you want them or not.

I realize your both very upset and want only your money and for me to never contact you again. I want this to. Below I have listed parts I have that I will gladly send out to either one of you for a partial credit of my current balance. As it stands I owe Brett L. $250 and Mike M. $450. I can pay each one of you $100 each a week till my balance with each of you is paid off. If this is acceptable by both of you please write me back stating you accept the payment plan I have laid out. At that point I will make payments to each one of you in the total of $100 every Friday until the balance is paid off. If I don't make a payment then this email will be turned over to the police and the courts for a lawsuit against me. I will will back this email 100% and follow through with it. Please let me know what you two think.

If both of you agree to this email then I would expect the RX7Club forums to be updated that we have come to a settlement but the details of that settlement to be kept between us unless I for some reason do not abide by the terms which we all agreed upon. Below I have listed parts that I am about to place on Ebay to help raise money to pay you to back. If these items don't sell I am still responsible for paying each one of you $100 a week until paid off. If either of you are willing to take any of the parts listed below please tell me so that I can work out with you the trade value in terms to our agreement here.

In conclusion I am as unhappy as you are with the way this has all turned out and wish only to have this finished. I hope that this is a acceptable plan of action for both of you and that after this is completed the issue at hand will be dropped. If either one of you would like to speak with me regarding this email please give me a call at 630-460-0529. I await both of your responses and will start making payments this Friday to both of you if agreed upon.

Parts:
Garrett T3/T4 Turbo (50Trim)
Replica C-West Side Skirts
93 Stock RX7 Hood
93 VR Stock Side-view Mirrors
Apexi Intakes (for twin turbo setup)
HKS 40mm Wastegate
Turbo XS RFL BOV

I bought stock bumpers from him which he told me was in good condition and ready to bolt on. I finally had a chance to mount them this weekend and discovered that the bolts were torn off the aluminum brackets. The brackets are not removable as they are riveted in thereby the bumper is useless.

I'm in Canada so it ended up costing $400 (incl. shipping) for nothing. I hope you all get your money back.

I am not disagreeing that chris is a rip off artist, BUT:

You can drill out the rivets, buy new brackets from Ray at Malloy Mazda and pop rivet the new ones on. If the bumpers themselves are in good shape, it's worth doing......if you were dealing with a trustworthy seller, you wouldn't have to do it, but it's what you're stuck with.

I just got done doing those rivets on my front bumper last week. Check with a local body shop if you dont have a rivet gun. And dont use those crappy plastic top rivets. Only use the aluminum ones.

I really hope you guys all organize and file a lawsuit againt Chris. This is f'in' rediculous. I can't believe a fellow owner is robbing others of their parts while at the same time using those parts to modify his own vehicle and get exposure. WTF???

Yeah, he is deffinitley one hell of a scumbag... What kind of person steals from people, lies about being broke, and then blatantly shows off what he's done with their stolen money? Someone who deserves some pound-me-in-the-*** prison time or one hell of a beating thats who.

Why don't a bunch of the local guys go and confront him and see what he has to say? I'm not advocating physical violence, but a verbal confrontation is warranted in my book.

Would be nice to see a bunch of the local guys go over there and have a talk with him. Have someone film it...and see if he admits to what he's doing to resolve the **** he's in.

He's told me a few times that he HIMSELF plans on attending all the local events and that he was hoping to meet all the local owners. If nothing gets resolved in the meantime, I'm willing to have a verbal confrontation with him. Hopefully, a few other owners will be willing to join me.

The reason I'm not willing to go out of my way to confront him is simply because I was a huge advocate of NOT dealing with ChitownR1, Chris, or any of his numerous allias'. I did my best to get the info out there and for whatever reason a few people decided to either ignore the cautions or didn't care. I still think something needs to be done, but now it's more the responsibility of the parties involved.
