Didn't know you can ship stuff that big without shipping it as freight on a pallet. Which company did he use?

You can ship hoods via Greyhound.

it would not have mattered if it was insured because ups generally requires at least 1.5-2" of appropriate padding around the entire thing or they will deny the claim as "not packaged properly". Are those scraps from an interior re-do as packing material?unfortunately the only good way Ive seen to ship hoods is if you have a crate for it but most people arent making a custom crate. That seller is a total douchebag for posting an ad and then running it like an auction...this aint ebay!

No one probably reported it to an admin and more importantly shouldn't have bought it if he was doing that sort of thing in the first place.

We didnt see it until it was already over...otherwise it would have been shut down on the spot. As it stands, the seller is not allowed to sell any parts anywhere on this forum until this is resolved, effective last night. OP, please let me know if you hear anything from him. Thanks

Why didn't you just pick it up in MD? If you're location is still Pennsylvania I can't believe you had it shipped to you from SoMD.

Still sucks, Linh is a pretty busy guy, I'm sure he'll get back to you soon.

b/c i dont have any way to transport a hood. and i get pulled over enough to drive down without a hood on, and my car is not currently setup to work with the hood pin location on the hood. and i dont have a factory hood latch. plus his price included shipping...and i told him to insure it. so that way i wouldnt be in the situation im in now

As soon as he started the auction, I didn't even bother trying to buy the hood anymore. Sounded like he underpriced the hood and just wanted to make extra money. Red Flag!

Hopefully he responds but if he's logging onto the forum without a response, then he's ignoring you and keeping the money.

Busy doing what? Sitting through 'Remedial Car Part Packing 101?'

No, you don't have to answer that question.

If this was the lounge I'd totally make a comment asking which is the girl. I'm going to have to do something nice tomorrow to make up for that thought.

I'd ask for a shampoo and set too.
But in all seriousness..Holy Crap. The hood is fiberglass, and I don't allow anyone within 5 feet of my car(has one on it).
How anyone could wrap like that and ship?..he must be sniffin the old Hair dye.
Have you tried to get Paypal involved to "help"?.The item truly is not as described..

just sent him this msg in a pm.----

hey i really dont know why your ignoring me with all the bullshit you did. either way this is my last msg to you. I would like 1/2 of the money back so i can have the hood completely redone and put it in the condition that it should have been in. so thats $300. if not, ill be taking a trip to MD to sue you in small claims court. i know your name, where you work, and your phone number. even your girlfriends name and info about her. so it wont be hard to get you served with papers. If i do that, ill be sueing you for the full $600 plus court fee's and travel expenses, hotel, ect. i think it would be in your best interest to do the 1/2 refund. but hey, its your money. either way hope to hear back from you and be refunded by tomorrow.

Linh Phan
OK, I already asked you before not to post this kind of information, why are you still doing it?

Now I agree with you that the hood was not packed properly but that is nowhere near $300 worth of damage from what I can see. Were you expecting to bolt this onto your car without refinishing it @ all? (is your car covette yellow?)?

I think given the amount of aggravation and time wasted that's perfectly reasonable.
