Dispute: too many 7's

Here's the original item for sale thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-rx-7-1986-1992-parts-194/ohlins-coilovers-847010/

Here's a cut and paste of my PayPal Dispute:
Sent money for Ohlins coilover suspension (springs and shocks) with camber plates as advertised on RX-7Club forums on Monday 13 July 2009.

Seller advised that they would be removed from the car and shipped the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

Then seller promised shipping within one week on 19 July 2009.
Last contact with seller on 27 July 2009 stated that he would have a tracking number by Wednesday 29 July 2009.

Seller HAS NOT responded to a request for a tracking number as of 6:30 PM EST Wednesday 29 July 2009.

Will withdrawl PayPal dispute and leave positive feedback on RX-7Club forum iTrader system upon arrival of suspension in good condition as advertised.
He still has not contacted me, despite having been online on the forum this morning. It shows when he was last on in his profile:

Here is the PM Dialogue between the seller and myself:

As far as info or paperwork goes, did you find any? I know this s a RARE setup.

I was looking at the FD setup by Ohlins and it has a shock with an extra reservoir on the side of the shock, is why I asked.

I really don't know much about it though, so this is kinda a gamble for me...

I'm gonna be using it for a street driven and autocross driven car... I hope it's not too rough on the kidneys.

I don't need fast shipping. UPS or FedEx Ground works... Or even USPS so long as it's trackable.

22193 Woodbridge VA is the destination, so it's not too far.
Allright, I've got the money ready. What's your paypal?

Also, do these shocks have an external reservoir? Do you have any of the original paperwork for them? I haven't been able to find ANY specs on them or anything other than they're good stuff according to a lot of people.
I don't want to jump the gun here, but it's been pushed back a couple times. I hate to mess up anyone's reputation, but I also hate to lose money.

If I get the items as advertised in the thread, and in good shape, I will retract all statements and suspicions and apologize.

Until then, I'm worried. Does anyone think I'm justified or unjustified in this?

I think if he's had your money for two weeks you have a just suspicion. Thats $700 bucks, which is a good chunk of money. I'd keep the dispute open unless you get a tracking number soon. Too Many 7's has been on the forums for a while, I'd expect him to be a reputable guy, a PM or e-mail telling you the status of whats going on would be nice. People shouldn't sell things unless they're ready to ship or pickup, and if they aren't it should be noted. Two weeks and no information on a tracking number or that they're even ready to go is unacceptable.
I Hope Too Many 7's has the decency to come in here and give everyone that's viewed this and Pele as the buyer a good explanation of what's going on.

My experience with Too Many 7's was not that good either. I purchased a n370 ecu from him that took over a week to ship. I payed him right away on 7/6/09 but he didn't ship it until 7/14/09. His excuse was that he needed it so he can drive his car to a shop to get a standalone installed. He did not tell me this before I sent him the money or else I would of looked for another one. He finally shipped it after I opened a dispute with paypal. I received it but have yet to try it out. Hopefully it works.

Things are looking up. I got a UPS tracking number today and it appeared to be valid.
60 lbs seems about right.

So far, UPS is just getting to pick it up or it's been dropped off at the depot, as it says "Billing Information Received."

Actually, the FIRST thing I tried to do was add this to the comments on PayPal's dispute system... Once it's been escalated to a claim and is waiting for the seller's response, I can't write any more.

I would still be *cautious*. Billing information received doesn't really mean much. Wait until the tracking has been activated and you see shipping progress before thinking everything is in the clear. Just an FYI.

^

I said in my PayPal claim that I'd retract upon arrival of the goods in satisfactory condition.
I've had people get pissed and ship me busted good before.

It arrives tomorrow. Hope it works out. I'll shut this thread down if it's all good.

Suspension is on the car. Feels great.
Positive feedback left for the seller.

I feel good communication would have avoided this whole problem.

In the end, everything worked out though.

CLOSE THREAD.
