Thumbs down 1souped7

I rarely feel the need to post in the bad guy section but I thought I should detail my latest transaction with 1souped7.

I responded to his PLX gauges for sale thread around the 10th of April. We agreed on $260 shipped for the items he had for sale, which is a very good price for a quality product. I already have some PLX stuff so I was happy to be buying more. I paid him an extra $10 (without him asking for it) since it was being shipped to Canada and I don't think he had time to contemplate the extra cost.

I initially made an error when paying him by clicking on the wrong funding source. It was corrected within minutes and is of no relevance here but I thought I should add it since 1souped7 assisted me in a refund and then payment again.

He advises that he would have them out of the car pronto and on their way to me.

I paid on April 10th

Received a PM from 1souped7 on the 11th that he was unable to remove them on the 10th but would remove them today and send me a tracking number. I was very happy with his communication and another day was no bid deal at all.

I didn't hear anything from him for a couple of days so I sent him a PM.
He responded on the 14th and said he just got them out of the car. He apologized for the delay and offered a refund. Once again I was delighted with his response and told him not to worry. I just needed them in time for a tuning day that is coming up this weekend. He promised they would go out on the 15th.

I received a tracking number on the 16th. I didn't even check it at this point as 1souped7 seemed reliable.

When I finally checked the tracking number it was for an item heading to a destination other than my location.

I pm'd him on the 16th, which is the same day he informs me that only half the items were shipped and that his wife forgot to mail the 2nd package. I still say no problem just send me the tracking numbers.

After not hearing from 1souped7 for another 24hrs with the tracking numbers I sent him a firm message advising him that I am not happy at this point and that he needs to answer my requests for tracking numbers. He had been online during that previous 24hrs, which is why I was becoming annoyed and concerned.
I contacted a couple of people that he had transacted business with here on the forum and I was happy to hear that they had favourable outcomes to the transaction. He responded promptly once my tone changed and I advised him that I am a lawyer.

I received the 1st box the same day I received the tracking number. The items were as described and I was much more at ease. I did not receive a tracking number for the 2nd box as it was sent via USPS without tracking.

I received it on Thursday or Friday past. I opened it up to find that I am missing serial connection wires, I am missing sensor wiring or more specifically plugs that go into the PLX unit, one of the gauges has suffered some heat damage around the bezel. It looks like some accidentally rested it on a soldering iron. I have not had a chance to check if they are even functioning since I have been wasting my time trying to source the connectors etc. that I need to make it work. I have spent $50 so far in correcting things but I am not finished.

I am unhappy that the item was sent to me without any mention of the damage and the missing wires. I am also not happy that the item was sent unnecessarily in two shipments since I had to pay duty on the same items twice. I am also not happy that I was told x by 1souped7 while he performed y throughout the transaction. He did advise that he is dealing with personal issues at the moment but he needs to realize that we all have personal issues. I don't use mine as an excuse and neither should he.

I would not buy from him again. If you choose to transact with him I would request a very detailed description and or pictures before hand.

Below is a pic of a new gauge followed by the gauge that he sent. Even with the low quality images I created it is clear that the gauge in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pics is damaged.

And just so you all know I did pm 1souped7 to advise him of my lack of satisfaction prior to posting here but he has chosen not to respond to me despite being online several times since I sent him the PM.

Scrappy,
I apologize greatly for this entire ordeal. I have been running around all over the place and had numerous delays removing the gauges from the car. On top of that I had my first newborn child over last week and have little to no sleep since. I did read your private message and had every intention of getting back to you asap. I was linked this thread by a friend of mine on the boards and want to take care of it right away.

From the looks of this post and your private message your not happy with the "gauges" but the modules are perfect. Here is what I am willing to do:

A.) I will issue a full refund and you can ship everything back to me.

B.) I will issue a partial refund and you can keep everything and just purchase new DM-100's from PLX. This refund would be in the range of $100-$130 of the $250 shipped. Which is a very good deal in m y opinion since shipping is extremely expensive and we've both already shelled out enough for that. You would keep everything.

C.) You can come up with a solution to this issue and I would be more then happy to work with you to make this right.

In conclusion I feel badly for putting you through this. I didn't think the residue at the bottom of that gauge was anything more then the clear silicone I used to hold the slim gauges in place in my cluster. Furthermore, my short comings in uninstallation were unacceptable in my mind and that is the reason I offered a full refund prior to shipping.

In my defense I did list the gauges as ONLY the gauge and the module. I private messaged you and let you know you should order the sensors and other wires prior to shipping to make sure everything was to you at the same time. To address the wrong tracking number issue at first...I ship a lot of items all at once. I must have read you a shipping number for another RX7Club buyers item. There was never any malintent. Either way Scrappy I am very sorry and I hope we can get this worked out so that you are satisfied with the outcome of this transaction.

I knew that there were no sensors and I was fine with that and raise no issues about that. There was never any mention of missing wiring. Explain to me how I am supposed to find wiring that uses a specific type of connector that I have never seen before? I would have to order it from PLX. I am missing wiring that comes with the gauges and wiring that comes with the sensor module. These items are fundamental to their use. At this point I cannot connect the gauges and sensor modules to each other. In addition I cannot datalog any info from the sensor modules since you did not send the analog input connectors. I have spent several hours at electronic supply wholesalers looking for the stuff and I have found some items to make things work. I will contact PLX and try to order the connectors I am missing but please do not try to make it out to be a situation where I am confused about what I bought. Your listing referred to the items as being in perfect condition.

Send me a refund for $130 and I'll order the remaining stuff I need and I will consider this matter resolved amicably. FYI I sent you $270 when you asked for $260.

Money has been sent. I will also try and locate any wires that I might still have or might have forgot to include. Once again I apologize and my first post was not intended to further anger you. I will be in touch if I can find any other wires and once again I am very sorry for the problems.

I received the funds. It is nice to see you make efforts to fix everything. I am sure others reading this will appreciate that and buy from you.
