*touch* bad seller

well *TOUCH* screwed me on a supercharger..

I bought it while I was in Iraq, guess he though that I was some dumb *** service member...

Well I had the part shipped to my friends shop in San Diego, I picked it up shortly after my return and attempted the install, I get almost done and find a LEAK...

So I contact him right away, first thing he does is get defensive, saying he didn't do it and it can't be proved that he had done something nor could it be proved that I had done anything to it...

Ok great, now he keeps saying lets do a UPS claim, I tell him the box is perfect no way its a shipping issues, he persists and Files the claim anyways...

UPS denied the claim, they said LACK OF PACKING 1 of 2 souses against him
I have the thing rebuilt.. 450 rebuild kit, 250 labor, find out the output shaft is bad, charges me 75 of 150 for a used one.. plus driving to this place over an hour a way two times...

This place is Paradise Wheels in San Marcos, the guy is Craig Connely (sp?) he is the one that owns all Paxton rights, upon initial inspection he said it was over spun.. the shaft has a cam in it that is worn down, won't drive the oil pump, the oil pump is fucked too, there is a rod that rides on the cam that is supposed to be flat and is mushroomed, he replaced the whole oil pump for FREE.. then I told him the guy I got it from claims on hitting 12PSI regularly.. with a smaller pulley, taking the blower WAY past REDLINE..

ok now *TOUCH* this is 2 of 2 sources against you...
do you want to go to court, as stated in the FS thread, you have one month to come up with my money or I will see you in court...

mike, i never said that you were a dumb *** service member. i live in norfolk, va the worlds largest navy base, half of my family is military. i respect you guys to the utmost.

actually, the first thing that i did was tell you how to get to that seal to inspect the leak....not defensicve at all. even tho this transaction was over six months ago, i didnt mind buying you a new seal, even without proof that it was bad. just like when you realised that i forgot an item form the package i shipped it out to you for free.

i suggested the UPS claim after you told me it needed a complete rebuild. i suggested this since i did pay over $100 shipping insurance, plus when i sent it, it was in working order. i never had leakage, performance or functionality issues. ipersisted since its the logical first step and you could only say, "no" and "give me the money". i filed the claim for you because the time frame for filing a claim (6 months according to my local UPS store) was running out and you didnt seem like you were going to.

you and i both kno it was packed great. even you said that, and you hate me. you did a PICTURE INVESTIGATION well after opening the package. i dunno if you threw away some of the packaging or just did not include it, but it had bubble wrap, peanuts etc.

mike, why did you tell me paradise was "down the street" from you? you made it seem as tho it was like 20-30 mins away. with the smaller pulley (which i ran for ummm....3 weeks to a month? only hit *near* 12 psi ONCE. thats why i said it was capable of that..besides that one time, i never took it over 5000rpm or ~5 psi on the small pulley.

mike, i would really rather not take this into the court room, and im really sorry that you had to come out of pocket for this but i will say one more time: i cant reimburse money to someone that i sent a working item to six months ago. if this would have happened right after the transaction, i would have given you a full refund in excahnge for everything back just to save the headache, but understandably i dont have your money even if i wanted to give it too you, not to mention the other factors involved here. i really hope you do enjoy the s/c and wish you well. also, if you wanna talk about this anytime you have my number. i would call you but you have only ever answered/returned one of my phone calls.

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/230-whp-supercharged-vert-complete-dyno-car-video-sc-comparisons-431570/

on the topic of the puleys....on a s/c a smaller pulley will cause the s/c to spin faster at any given rpm. since s/c's build boost relative to engine rpm (at least centrifugal types like mine) the smaller the pulley the sooner and faster you will build boost as well as having a higher "boost potential" so-to-speak. HOWEVER, this comes at a cost; the planetary bearings in a s/c can only handle so much speed (this particular unit tops out at aroun 38,000 rpms (that revolutions of the s/c, NOT the engine). basically, although with the small pulley you will be able to reach 12psi (i have on more than one occasion), you will not be able to rev the engine past ~5500rpm without risking catastrophic failure of the planetary bearings and thus killing the s/c. but you will build boost quicker and at lower rpms. since some people are rev happy (i kno i am at times) you can use a bigger pulley. the bigger pulley for this particular s/c will allow (w/ the H.O. impeller) to reach ~9psi and will do so a bit slower and at a little higher rpms. however, with that size pulley you can take it to redline without worrying about damaging the s/c (altho you might inflict damage on the engine and or drivetrain). these are some numbers i was told by another member who used the same s/c setup like 10 years ago:

small pulley (3.25") w/ standard impeller: 8 psi max
small pulley (3.25") w/ upgrade impeler: 11 psi (this is the setup that i hit 12 with, altho i was tempting fate)revised, large (3.75") pulley w/ standard impeller: 6 psi max
revised, large (3.75") pulley w/ upgrade impeller: 9 psi max (what i ran after finding out i was tempting fate)
won't let me quote this one...

and hell post 1 talks about racing.. bet you didn't keep that under 5500 RPMs...
o, and the vids are on page 4. those were taken proir to the new pulley, bov, fpr and gauges (which are all shown on pg 5). im consistently putting out 11-12lbs of boost now. my next target is a wrx. i have a friend with an '07 and he just put in a new turbo, front mount intercooler, boost controller and 3 in exhaust from the turbo back. i really hope the fc will take it down since hes got the best (although thats relative and i think mine is the best!) car in my "circle of friends". i raced him once before in a 3-way race with me, him and my cousin in his 87 turbo supra when i was n/a and mostly stock. the first pass i actually beat him off the line and led through first, then misshifted and lost by about 2 lengths. the second pass he mis-shifted and me and my cousin beat him ( with my cousin beating me).
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm constant 12PSI... wonder how you did that, I hit about 5 PSI with the RIGHT PULLEY at 7K RPMS...

its funny how you told me right where to look at the seal, like you had inspected it before...

it of course was packed fine, but it wasn't the shipping that caused the damage you are just trying to COMMIT INSURANCE FRAUD to get out of paying...

Yea paradise wheels is down the street, compared to you, its still 3 city's away in California traffic...

and of course you don't want to go to court, you would loose, and you may just get fined for attempted insurance fraud, so just pay and you won't have to see a court room, remember I get free leave travel and a lawyer so its no skin off my back...

And if it would have happened right after YOU KNEW I WAS IN IRAQ, you knew it would take me this long to get the thing installed, its been about a month and a half since i first contacted you about this, I paid in mid December, so ITS ONLY BEEN 4 MONTHS anyway...

and I only answered one of your calls because you only called me twice, one of those times I was at work... can't just pickup the phone in front of my officers when they are talking... you say you have family in the military you should know that

So like I said, one month to come up with this or some kind of down payment and a payment plan or I will fly to VA and file a suit against you...

20 dollars is enough to go to superior court here my friend... just think about it, you will loose this case

I agree with Mike, thats fucked up what you did.

so far Mike has proved right, and you have no proof that it was not damgaged prior to shipping.

you need to man up to your mistake.

i can understand maybe it got fucked up, and you had no clue, but from what i seen so far. that doesnt seem to be the case.

Wish you the best Mike, hopefully this gets resolved quick.

*TOUCH* has agreed to give me $500 towards the repairs, he is in school and money is tight, i can understand that and since the man is in school and not slingin drugs I'll take the lower price, I'll eat the other 225, so he is going to make payments on it and I will close the thread once the dead is done.

Thanks for realizing where I am coming from on this.
