i sent an admin of pirate4x4 a message giving him a heads up involving darin and i guess i will work with anyone i can to get this criminal thrown in jail. hes 30 minutes from my house (supposedly) and i just want this guy put away. i highly doubt that anyone will get their money back, but lets see if we can actually do something without an admin like roller..

i posted the shops phone number up above, if someone can give them a call it would be a good idea, or hell, even stop in.
I can most likely find his actual hotel room number with a bit of work.
But i think the best way to go is either contact the shop he is at, or contact sandia labs, where his girlfriend works(money went through her paypal).

well, heres an update:
just spoke to someone, and darin is now supposedly back in arizona.
i have a phone number though, idk if it will connect or not, i dont want to try the number from my shop or my personal phone.

his gf ashli was not working at the labs, she was supposedly interning. darin had told this shop owner that the labs werent paying the rent fast enough, so they had to move back to az.......
anyone else want to chime in to this? preferably some local az guys....

We have 623 and 480 numbers usually.
Supposedly his shop is about 2 minutes from my work but I have no clue if he's even there still. His blatant concealment of a firearm in CA makes me hesitant to go knocking on his door.

If it's the same number I have then it is his actual number. I've never spoken to him on the phone but I have swapped several texts with him. I tried calling the number before starting the thread. It is an active number, it went to voice mail with the automated voicemail account. I also did a reverse look up on whitepages.com and it shows as a St. Louis number. I'd check to verify the number but earlier today at work I switched my cell SIM card into an Iphone. I haven't figured out how to pull contacts off the SIM card yet.
I would not be at all surprised if the ******* has been monitoring these forums and because we spoke to much in public knew what was coming. He very well may still be in Cali, his girlfriend very well may still be interning. I doubt being an intern they would update their website for an intern..or even give an intern their own line. He's lied so much that there is no telling what is and isn't real.
I would keep trying with his Cali employer and get as much info as possible. What we need is for a mod to get involved and collect Paypal records of when he or she accepted money and what it was for. Once we have police involved they will be MUCH more influential with employers getting contact info.
Hell I don't know gun laws but I'm betting the Cali police would like to make sure he is registered in their state.

I have a hard time believing he is gone from cali, he kept saying how money isnt a problem and his girlfriends internship was the most important thing.
I assume he caught wind of people here knowing his location and is trying to cover his tracks.

The first step is collecting Paypal records. Once we have that turn it over to the police and they can pressure their connections and follow the paper trail back to them.
I've seen it in the other threads....how much info do the people he scammed have from their Paypal? In previous threads Rx7roller had people getting their paypal info to him.

Unfortunately I don't think we are getting much help from the mods. Unless they spend their own time helping to organize and be the spokesperson/project manager then their only power is to ban him. I just don't see any mods using their personal time. I don't know Roller enough to know the good and bad or any of that. But I do know he helped me in the past with a scammer and probably used a good amount of his own time to make it happen.
What I think would be best is if a west coast person took it upon themselves to be the organizer and contact for the police.

In the past, I would in fact spend a lot of my time doing just that, Jeff. Thats how I helped you out last time. The thing is, it is not within the operations of this forum for a mod to help you guys out. What I did is the reason I was asked to moderate. I went quite a bit beyond what is the norm here. Feel free to ask other mods, but I truly do not see anyone stepping up to do it. For one thing, I often have access to data that the average person does not. Look at the forum terms of service, and you will see that there is no requirement for the staff to get that involved. The job of the mods is to run the forum, and so you wont find many on any forum that are willing to do what I used to do here. I am actually in AZ right now, too, but not in Mesa.....otherwise, I would do a little digging. I came here for business and by business is all done, and my flight isnt until tomorrow afternoon.

I agree Roller it's not in the terms of service... but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be. The big conglomerate took over things. They are earning money of vendors and advertising. I would think it would be in their best interest to keep things safe. A safe forum promotes their own bottom line in the form of creating a better environment for vendors.
The sad thing is that Gurew has left behind a pretty good paper trail. One that will get much muddier the longer it takes for us to act on it.

If you were scammed by Darin Neagle aka Gurew, send me a PM with your paypal transaction information. Include:
1) Your name
2) $ Amount
3) What it was for
4) Transaction date
5) Their Paypal ID / email
If any of you made these transactions within the past 45(?) days, you need to immediately contact Paypal to try to get your money back. If any you (hopefully all) use a credit card through Paypal, you need to contact your credit card company to try to have the payment rescinded. I don't know how large of a window you have to do this, and it may well have passed.
I can't promise you much, and the incident Jeff and Roller have mentioned sounds like a one-in-a-million shot. Being a moderator on this forum doesn't give you super powers or a police badge. Whatever I can do, you can as well. I can pass all this information on to the Internet Crime Complain Center (IC3), which works with the FBI. What they do with the info is anyone's guess, but you can always hope.

i have done all i can, i cannot get any more information at this point in time, but i will be working with a navy ctn to see what he can dig up from his end...

Where do things stand with getting Rocket88 our paypal info? He has mine. After we have that collected we contact the police in Cali where his g/f was interning. Hopefully what happens is Cali police get ahold of her employer and acquire some solid background info...where she is going school, address, etc. School would be the most important. That potential gives a paper trail right back to her parents and family.

But we do have the name connected to the paypal as being employed in Cali. Whether they are still there or not....That employer has information about her. WIth him having a previous record and parole time I'd like to think the police would take some extra interest in him.
