This is more of a blemish on the forum than Pineapple. With all of the he said, she said and people making comments based on faulty information, the moderators should have called and gotten the straight scoop.
Since Rob got shafted for the engine, and the fake transfer of title nonsense, there are many angles to this mess. If you as a moderator want to get to the bottom of this person you call a "crook and thief", then call Rob and exchange information. If you have a better understanding of law, then we all benefit.
But lets end this pissing match and get back to the reason for this forum. Our passion for our rotaries.

So, now, I am supposed to call Rob, hold his hand, and pretty please help him to handle his business here? Sorry jack, that just doesnt fly.
Here, let me give you a perfect example. Two days ago, you yourself were in this very thread, playing the same "he-said-she-said" game youre complaining about now. So, please, what exactly is your point?
Well now, let's see....we were told forever ago that Rob was aware of this thread. And he didnt show up. So why would I need to call him? Isnt he a big boy now? He was already aware of this discussion. It was HIS CHOICE not to drop in before today. I even went as far as to ask that he PM me because no one knew what his "new account" was, and that didnt happen either. It turns out that he has had that account for going on two years. We were also told two days ago that he was in the process of "making enough posts to post in here". How strange is it, then, that all 5 of his needed posts came today, right before his post in this thread? Those of you that are on Rob's side in this have done nothing but the exact same thing youre complaining about now! And then, all you have to say is "this makes the forum look bad"? wow....
Tell you what--I have a better idea. If Rob really got ripped off, why couldnt he even handle his business then? I guarantee you that if someone stiffed me like that, I certainly wouldnt wait 6 years, do nothing, and then pull a stunt like this! Someone owes YOU thousands of dollars, are YOU going to let it slip through the cracks for years? How about you think before you speak next time?
OK, I'll tell you what we're gonna do. Since all you can do is complain about the same thing you just posted in here yourself, then the only parties that are to post in this thread from now on are the two parties and moderators. If nothing else, that should put an end to this ridiculous hypocrisy. I posted specifically as a matter of law--you were more interested in trying to lay out "all the facts" while completely ignoring them. I also posted quite fairly, addressing both sides, and even Rob himself wanted to accuse me of "benefitting one side". WOW, calling someone a crook and a thief sure sounds like a benefit to me! So, at this point, stay out of the thread. You arent Rob, and you arent the other party, and you sure as hell arent gonna come in here and whine at me about people's "he said she said" while youre being a hypocrite.
Good day to you.

Folks, this aint difficult. This thread is now restricted to the parties involved, and moderators. If you really feel that you have something relevant and factual to add, feel free to PM myself or another moderator about it, but for the time being, ONLY the two parties involved and moderators are to be posting in this thread. And while I expect that all others are to leave this thread to those actually involved, I also ask that the involved parties do post so that there can be some resolution to this. By "relevant and factual, I mean you have first-hand knowledge(and NOT "he told me this" or "I heard her say that") or you have had experience with one of the parties involved. From this point on, there is to be NO instigating in a thread, for either side of any issue. Finally, Rob, I owe you a bit of an apology, as you can see the thread title has been changed to reflect a more neutral position. From now on, we will be editing any thread titles that make accusations in the same fashion. I still wholeheartedly stand by what I have said here, but I do not want any of our members feeling as if they are being accused by the forum unless there is solid proof of wrongdoing. I should have handled your concern about the thread title differently, and for that I hope you can accept my apology.

Consider this--since youre claiming that this is a civil matter to begin with, consider when someone doesnt pay for a car loan. When the repo man comes, does he take the car, regardless of the condition? Or does he see a boat and say "well, that's worth more, so I will grab that instead"??
Thank you Pineapple Racing for finally posting something about this. i understand that as a good business you don't normally practice talking openly about customers transactions but i feel you made the right choice here because this thread has gotten way out of hand.

First, a repo man has a legal right to seize the car. Rob does NOT have the same legal right to take back the motor OR the parts.
Second, youre talking about two very different credit situations. This guy was to pay Rob for a SERVICE. He didnt sign a contract and a loan agreement for a CAR. The law treats these two transactions very differently and so we must also.
Third, having done repo work myself, you are incorrect about the car scenario. I have repo'ed cars before and allowed the person to take out their custom stereo--anything that is required to move the car must stay, like the wheels. But a person IS FULLY ENTITLED to get THEIR personal items and those that were not part of the original deal back. That's a fact of law, chief. So, even if you wanted to claim that Rob could legally keep the block itself--which he legally cannot--he still has no claim whatsoever to any part that was not a part of the original agreement. We are talking about two separate issues here--the motor and then the extra parts. In the end, I have made it abundantly clear that Rob has no right to confiscate either. You can argue it all you like but youre not going to change the law that makes this illegal in the process. Maybe instead of coming to me with these arguments you guys should just try looking at the law. I am not lying to you here--and I am not making this stuff up! Sorry that you dont like what the law says but it IS the law and I didnt make it that way.
and why are you, a Moderator, taking so much of this so personally? i thought you guys were here to moderate the forums and be a neutral party.
clearly that is not the case, from what you have posted time and time again, your on the girls side. that much is clear. i'm not trying to offend you but im sure you will be.
"clearly you're on the girls side"...nothing could be further from the truth. So do me a favor, and if you dont have anything worthwhile and relevant to say, dont post. I also already make it clear that NO ONE is to be posting in here except for Rob, the other party, and mods. You are none of the above. So kindly move along.

Now, before you make any further false accusations about me or my actions here, run along. This thread is restricted to those involved and the moderating staff. And if you had to be banned for further ignoring the direction of the staff, I am certain you would only make other false statements about me...

And, since people seem to have difficulty reading, I will say it one last time...

Let me make sure that everyone is clear about this.
Jon does one heck of a great job helping members of this site with these issues. Between him and myself we have been able to get many members their money back and or the parts that are owed to them. This is a very time consuming and thankless job but he and I don't do it for the recognition.
We are rotary enthusiasts and owners just like all that are on this site. We take the time to help members with these issues and genuinely care about our fellow enthusiasts. So when Jon, myself or any other member of this staff ask you to follow our directions we would greatly appreciate that you do so. In order for issues such as these to be resolved we need to stick to the "Facts" and what we have to work with. Our emotions or feelings no matter what they may be do not resolve issues.
Thank you,
Doc.
Guess I will have to clarify this-

It means if you are not the original poster or Rob or one of the Moderator staff then you don't post in this thread.
I don't want to be harsh about this but the next person that disregards this will receive a 1 week vacation.
