I really dislike starting a thread like this but I feel like it is somewhat of a last resort. FDNewbie imports has done business on this forum for a long time. He has provided a LOT of very nice, quality, and difficult to find items to many members. So a bit over a year ago when Ramy pm's me about borrowing my original Spirit-R key to use as a template to replicate keys for sale I really did not hesitate much. He and his business had a good reputation.

During the last year a thread was started to test interest/demand for such an item and it was deemed appropriate to provide. Since then somehow a few of his threads including this one was deleted and information lost. After those problems were resolved a new thread was restarted, neccessary information regathered and updates given. As of the last few months no updates have been given, I have pm'd as well as emailed him via fdnewbieimports.com and still I have no response. All I really wish is to receive my original key back and for other members to 1) either receive the keys they paid for or 2) to receive a refund.

It appears that FDNewbie has not made any updates in any of his current GB's in over a month. That is just poor business practice.

 

Yea, I really want my money back on this one, or the keys ASAP. If he doesn't give me either by the end of July, I am going to pay him a visit. I live just south of him. SERIOULY RAMY just give me my 3 keys or ALL of my money back. You have until the end of July before I drive up to gainsville...

FINALLY heard back from Ramy. Supposedly it will only be a few more weeks until the return of my key and the other member's replicas begin to ship. I guess we will wait and see. This is not the first time we have been told this....

 

It has been more than two weeks since the last update on this GB. The way this has gone it is not really anything new. Business practice is poor at best. Customer service is horrible.

 

Yes... His business practice is POOR as hell... He always promises to make things right BUT it just stays the same... I can't believe people still buy from him and keep backing him up. After my personel experience with him I will NEVER do business with him again....
BTW.. you will be waiting LONGER than he stated... if he said a few more weeks you will be in for a few more months...
Just keep emailing him till it hurts...

Ramy gave an update on the 26th that showed pics of the first keys off!! Hopefully this means that my original will be back in the mail in a matter of days.

Let it be known that I have never questioned the honesty of FDNewbie imports. I have never suspected that my property or other's money would be run off with. I am simply questioning the company's ability to correctly handle transactions when they have gone array and communicate properly to his customers. Looking through this groupbuy as well as other groupbuys hosted by FDNewbie Imports that fact is fairly apparent.

 

Since the last update Ramy has not given any more updates and I STILL do not have my original back, even after pics of the new replicas were posted. No reply's to PM's or posts in the GB thread.

 

Today the thread was updated and I recieved a pm from Ramy. In the thread it states the reason for no update the last several days is he was moving from another temp location to a permanent one. To me, this is a lame excuse. Businesses must tend to customers even during a move. I did it with the retail business I managed, it sucks, but it is definately doable. If his practices continue like this I am unsure the new permanent location will be of much use for very long.

 

Today, nearly one and one-half years after loaning out my original Spirit-R key, I FINALLY have it back. Ramy did send me a complimentary replica.

Like I have stated before, I DO think Ramy is an honest guy, BUT he is HORRIBLE at customer communication and just general customer service. That said, I am not angry with him, but I will unfortuneately never do business with FDNewbie imports again.
