IL Elite Rotary Shop Earning the Elite name in Chicago

My time and availability to work on my own car and give it the focus and attention it absolutely required had really disappeared with my professional career taking over as of late. After my last mishap, I decided it was time to leave it to the professionals. I ran into Sal at Elite Rotary Shop and got to know him as I started my rebuild process. He and I spoke over the winter and really liked his attitude and understanding on the vision I had for my car. We communicated a number of time on the project plan and after seeing his shop I sent my car his way. The engine was already built by a reputable builder so I figured Elite Rotary Shop could quickly help me out and get my car tuned and road worthy.

He and his techs quickly uncovered a number of mistakes I had done by not having the time to provide the complete focus the RX7 and my mods requires. They even uncovered the reason my engine went the last time through diagnostic testing of everything with my car. In about 6 weeks time - in which Elite completely took care of the car and the many issues (some that required a engine pull to solve with a quick set of hands and help from Howard Coleman) that the car tossed our way. After 6 weeks at the shop car was road worthy and set for a break in driving.

Communication was top notch, even through all of the twists and turns and curveballs that the car threw our way - and there were a number. Elite easily saved me another engine failure with attention to every detail that could threaten the car, I was so impressed with the workman ship I have the car in for a few more upgrades beyond my initial project. This may be a new shop in Chicago, but they are quickly earning their stripes and one that definitely understands its customers wants and can understand the "vision" of the owner.

Would recommend this shop to anyone needing help getting their RX7 sorted. Great location in Chicago too! 5 mins from my house

I was actually going to start my own thread along similar lines, but will just add to this instead. Sal and company are great people to work with, professional but friendly and obliging, the ideal customer service experience (this comes from someone with over a decade of experience the automotive service industry). To top it off, they have the services of Nelson Siverio for their tuning events, getting your set up dialed in on the dyno with masterful skill. They worked on tuning my FC, and despite a couple of issues that came up (which they very patiently ironed out on the dyno, not something every shop will do), the result was a car that afterward ran dramatically better. Again, all done in a professional manner, but with a vibe of a group of friends working together in a garage at home. It is about time the huge market that is Chicagoland, finally has a solid rotary specialist go-to. I will be giving my business to Elite Rotary from now on!

Interesting.....

This is 180* contrast against the general consensus that elite is nothing like what is being described here. I wonder if this review is unprompted and un-incentivised........

I had the displeasure of being a fool , and experienced it first had. The guy hides behind different names, lies up and down. He’s a pure scum bag to deal with. Reason why locals don’t go to him either. Just read the reviews.

With this small community, it’s hard to find a good honest shop.Yes people make mistakes, what separates the good ones, is the fact they can own up and remedy the situation. Which is the opposite of elite. The guy lies constantly, over sells himself and his abilities. Then try’s to fault you as the guilty party.

Well the original review was 4 years ago so things can change maybe they were better back them. Myself I've bought several things from them and they always delivered.

Moved this thread to bad businesses, because that's what Elite is.
