IL Help me contact a-spec

Hi everyone,

I dropped my car at A-SPEC more than three weeks ago, it was not running and had been recently had a bad experience with some mice living inside it this winter. I had made arrangements to deliver the car before I found it in need of cleaning/repair. I have been calling and leaving messages and I have left an e-mail. The last answered call occured on 4/21/10!!

I told the owner (Mark, I think?) that if he would have trouble getting it running again I would take the car home and work on it. I'm not a bad mechanic, I just don't have a dyno or tuning experience. All I wanted was a tune, but when I took my car out of storage I found the rats' mess and the engine wouldn't start up. It was running like a champ before I put it away for the winter.

I am not an annoying customer, I have had lots of patience! I apologized for bringing a stinky car and offered to take it back and clean it before I dropped it off! But after 3 weeks without communication, I am starting to wonder- is my car even there any more? Was it stolen? Worse, this business has a "storage" fee. Three weeks of this fee * $40 a day = $840. I am hopeful that they won't try to charge me for storing the car all this time with no communication.

I need to sell this car. I have money saved for this tune and any repairs necessary to make it sale-able.

Does anybody know the guys/gals that work at A-SPEC? Maybe you could give them a call for me and see if I still have a car? Maybe you can call me back, Mark?

I have been putting off this post for a long time now. I didn't come here to start trouble... but what is happening here is looking pretty fishy from my end. I know these public forums have a way of "waking up" mechanics who don't have time for 2-minute phone calls. Don't take this personally. I just need a phone call, it's been 3 weeks. I am patient and understanding as long as the lines of communication are OPEN.

Thanks,

Michael Gallant

I live 2 1/2 hours away from the shop. I have been thinking of driving there every day, but as each day goes by I think... it is not at all reasonable that I should have to drive 5 hours to have a conversation with somebody that works there.

Between the time I posted this and the time it was published, I received a brief e-mail from Sean at A-Spec. He says that Ryan has not been in for 2 weeks due to a "personal emergency". I don't know what this means to me (and my car). I offered in a reply e-mail to help him out at the shop... I can help hand him stuff, clean up, or anything that would help him. I hope he accepts my offer. I will work for free, I just really really really need my car fixed soon.
