WELL! I know you guys are all tied up with your projects, has anybody ?been following ALMS racing series,( aka.diesel race cars), diesel race cars like Audi R10 have been killing some good sports cars, you do know an RX7 is a sports car. well last weekend a bomb was dropped at SEBRING FL. a PEUGOET DIESEL car bettered all test competition including the audi diesel car and totaly killing the PORSCHES, by 2 seconds per lap. looks like a new era. check out BTUs per lb. of good diesl fuel. Keep in mind the Audi diesel R10s have dominated for the past 2 years so gasoline engines losing isn't anything brand new. Peugeot is just the newest kid on the block but they actually debuted their car last year. I'm glad to see more diesels. I love diesels as long as they don't sound like big Ford trucks or International big rigs.

HI! rotarygod, last summer we went to the ALMS race at Road America,WIS, the diesel race cars were the quietest cars on the track, and made an unusual sound like no other race car I have heard. but the wildest thing was when, on the front straight, they would pass the competion, and be 10mph faster at the end of just 1 straightaway. just awesome. now getting all that weight around the corner gets interesting, they weigh about 300lbs. more than the closest competion . Thx Ron in Austin now.

I wish we could get some decent fun to drive diesel powered cars here. VW is the only game in town right now but it is wrong wheel drive. Mercedes also but they don't offer a decent manual tranny. I heard BMW is going to bring over the 3 series diesel but only in automatic which sucks ***.
Over on tdiclub, there were a couple of guys who swapped motors on their Audi A4 to the 2.7L Turbo Diesel of the European A6. That sounds pretty cool.
