Q. AI injection without CDI upgrade max boost run?
Due to money restraints I was wondering what is the max boost you can run safely with 50/50 injection on a T04B 60-1 turbo on a 1988 Turbo Haltech E8 rx7 without upgrading the stock ignition. (Just running some good plugs and wires)
I know that i will not increase the top end power by alot if any above 15psi but its just that I would like to push 20psi+ at the lower rpm and taper down to a lower boost setting at the higher rpm. Just trying to increase bottom end response.
Thanks,
Ian

2 things, the less water you run the less ignition you will need, If your worried about flammability, 60/40 is barley flammable, 75/25 is certainly flammable but nothing like "explosive"
Second, get a summit racing digital CDI, and run it between your stock igniter and stock leading coil.
Total price 120 dollars + shipping, and they work pretty good. Its a re- badged Mallory unit. I would even go so far as to say that its as good as you can get while still running waste spark on the leading, and its far better than the MSD 6a which is still analog
I would say you can 20 PSI off a TO4B without ignition breakup, in lower RPM's (4-5K) if you can spool it that high, thats going to correspond to under 200 WHP. I would say that HP not boost level is whats going to be the deciding factor.
