Push-to-connect fittings and tubes

As I have been bench testing nozzles and other pieces, I found it difficult and sometime almost impossible to disconnect those push connectors.

I concluded it was because the tube I was using was too resilient. It would deform when inserted, then refuse to be pulled off. I am now using this tube below I bought from McMaster. McMaster also carries high quality connectors. With these components it is indeed easy to make and change connections.

9149T241 Weld-Spatter-Resistant Polyurethane Tubing .16" ID, 1/4" OD, .045" Wall Thk, Blue, $0.85/ft

One tip: if your tube is hard to get off, use a small flare wrench to hold the ring down while pulling the tube.

Looks like max psi is only 175. Not much safety margin for the 150 psi pumps and not suitable for 250 psi pumps. The listed temp range is only 180 F. too. Gets pretty hot under the hood in the summer. ??
It does also come in black and white though.

McMaster carries this other tube with thicker walls and is rated at above 250 psi - #5648K511. It has the same 95A durom. it should work well with the instant connectors. But I have not tried it.

As for the temp. more or less that is the rating you will find for polyurethane (which is the material recommended for instant connections tubing) I wouldn't worry about. In a WI application, you handle low temp fluid inside. With proper routing outside, you should be fine. Obviously, just be careful and avoid touching hot parts. And let me assure you that the tube I got is really a tough guy. Nothing to compare with the one that came with my kit.

Thanks. I'll keep this stuff in mind then when I get my kit.

If you don't mind me asking...whose kit did you get? If you think the answer might cause the thread to devolve into something else, just PM me.

Don't know, they call "push-to-connect" here. Like the one below. Probably the same thing.
