Problems with AEM Meth Injection

So I just bought a FD with Meth Injection already on it. I seem to be having a problem with it though. At times the system, which is mounted on the divider makes a loud clicking sound them my idle will start to fluctuate. I checked the box and the error light is flashing, but it's flashing continuously, I can't get a count to see what the error is. After reading the AEM manual that I downloaded apparently the box is not supposed to be mounted in the engine bay because it's not water proof, but I doubt that's the issue since everything else is in the cabin. Is there a trick for reading the error light so I can determine what's wrong.

This thing only turns on randomly when I'm sitting at idle.

I'll check that. Do you know what numbers I should be seeing? I'm assuming 12v

No idea but if the voltage is too low it might be causing the unit to constantly reset or something. Keep in mind you usually have your foot on the brakes when your at a stop light which also lowers the voltage. Maybe just try boosting the car at idle and see if it still does it to eliminate that scenario.
