Another Route?

I was wondering, would it be possible to make a system that utilizes a standard injector?

It would be at a standard fuel pressure of ~40 psi using a stock fuel pump. I was thinking of using my spare NA fuel pump, running a line forward, then using an injector that is wired to the secondary injectors. This way, when the car is low in revs, the AI is not active, but when the secondaries kick in, the AI moves proportionally to the inj DC. The flow would be controlled by changing injector size and rail pressure.

Since I have a megasquirt I could have an output set for the AI pump to turn on a bit before the secondaries to prime the system. I would most likely use a 4 gal cell mounted where my passenger side muffler would normally go.

The main things I am unsure of are:
1. Will a gasoline pump be able to run with a 50:50 Meth/water?
2. Will a standard fuel injector work with 50:50?
3.Am I completely crazy for thinking outside the box?

1) i wouldn't run water through an injector... period. the metal components could rust shut preventing the AI from working costing you a motor.
2) the fuel pump likely will not be able to handle methanol long term, maybe short term but it wasn't designed for it.
3) not even sure if you can mix meth/water. no one i have seen dillutes methanol, only ethanol.

Volvo did this in touring cars in 1984 1986 period, they won TC world championship with just the system you describe pretty much

The only thing you need to do is add lubricol or some other type of cutting fluid lubrication oil to the water and all problems will be solved we use it a lot in fitting and machining tha I do daily on our CNC and manual lathes, mills and machining centres (not to metion other equipment).

No rust.
No problems.
Works great.

I mix about 5% in WI systems like you describe if they contain parts that will rust, pre engine components (you know what I mean !).

Karack the 50:50 meth:water is found in windshield washer fluid, very cheap and readily available.

Rice, what other more common types of lubrication would you recommend? It seems the kind you recommended was a little expensive for the amount I would like.

Meth and eth are miscible in water.

Also curious, what types of containers (ABS, Steel,a,um, PVC) and lines could be used in this system? Will a 50:50 mix have any effects on rubber FI line?
