50/50 and 100% Methanol: Freely Interchangeable???

Hi,

I've been doing a lot of research on different setups, but I can't find/figure out the answer to a simple question.

Will any of the 50/50 systems allow me the option to switch over to full methanol w/out having to to purchase anythin' additional?

Basically, I'd like to have my car setup initially for 50/50 but with the option to add 100% methanol whenever I please. Ideally, I'd like to have my car tuned for pump, 50/50, and 100% methanol all at the same time. Is there a system that will allow me to interchange freely???

Thanks in advance,

Rizwan

If you are going to want to run 50/50 and have the potential to run 100% methanol, you will need to purchase a kit that uses methanol compatible seals in the pump and checkvalves (like coolingmist pumps for example).

We believe we have the most tuneable controller with the ability to change the curve using the software and the flow rate, etc. So our controller has some abilities that could help you. However if you tune your vehicle for 100% methanol and run pump gas you are going to blow your engine unless you have the ability to change the cars tune on the fly (like flashing your ECU, etc).

What ever you do, ask about the seals in the PUMP and Checkvalve. WE use EPDM, not Viton or BUNA. There are a few kits on the market that can handle 100% methanol.

But as I said unless you have a way to change your cars tune on the fly, I would not change from 100% methanol to 50/50 or Pump if you are tuned for 100%.

Hope that helps and good luck.

That was very helpful. Thanks!

So, basically I should just purchase an AI system set-up for 100% methanol and it will have no problem running anything diluted, correct?

Regarding the comment about the tune: I'm actually running a standalone ECU and I have accessories that will allow me to save 4 maps. Like I mentioned before I plan on tuning it with pump, 50/50, and methanol. I will have different maps created for each set-up and will switch between them as I feel necessary.

I appreciate you providing the warning, but I've been doing quite a bit of research for sometime now. Now that I decided I'll be going the AI route I'm just trying to figure out which system will work best for my needs.

Yes if your pump and other components can handle 100% methanol, it can handle diluted as well. We tell our customers to try different mixtures and see what works best for them.
