Just got my Spirit R!.....

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and was just wondering that as the owner of a 2002 RX-7 with 46 000K's, what types of engine/gearbox oil/coolant you'd recommend. Should I go and purchase a metal AST, or are the plastic ones in these later models OK?.I'm on the North Shore in Sydney and was wondering if you can recommend a good place for servicings/engine work?

thanks again,

Raffmeister

Mate You'll have more luck posting in the third gen section on here, or else on the ausrotary site.

+1, Ausrotary is your best bet to get recommendations of products that are available in Aus. I personally use redline oils.

go with the justjap.com AST, and you will want a new radiator too, as the stockie is plastic.

Hey Raffmeister, did you import or purchase locally?

I'm thinking of buying one myself...

I bought locally (private sale) though I was going to import through IMG in Sydney. The car I eventually bought was imported by them anyway.

Since you know of Andrew at IMG. Here are a couple of contacts for you.

Marcus Read @ Parramatta (SP-II) 041 130 1241
gets all the parts from japan, has plenty of FD spare parts. Diagnosis & repair of all FD problems.

RotorMaster @ Wetherill Park (9725 4802)

Sydney's better known rotary workshop. All mechanical work done with experteze.

I hope your RX is a beauty & not too pricey bearing in mind that the "Spiriti-R" will always be more expensive than the others to choose from.

Whose Marcus Reid?, does he have a business. I paid about what I expected for a Spirit R, but thats what I wanted, so I didn't mind coughing up a little more.

Thanks a lot for the tips DMRH.

Nice car! One of the few outside of Japan. I have one to, Type A - fabulous car! One of only 3 in the UK.

I have a website that I host, if you fancy a look around:

www.spiritrx7.com

Look after it, and I hope it proves an excellent buy!

Tell me about it!

Winter months at the moment over here, so I've really hardly had any opportunity to even get it out of the garage recently! Roll on spring/summer!

Well at least you can look forward to a sunny summer, our summer right now is nothing but damp overcast skies with hot sticky humidity.I just detaled my car and know if I take it out it's gonna **** down!, weirdest Sydney summer I can ever remember
