nobody here seems to have that stuff

nobody anywhere seems to have service manuals or diagrams for later FD's

think mazda went computer based and no one has leaked a copy yet

The Australian way

92-95 = series-6. Worldwide export
96-98 = series-7. Australia + Japan
99-02 = series-8. Japan

However, we are allowed to import the series-8 version in significant numbers & there are lots on the streets here down under.

I know a guy who has a series-8 parts book. You can e-mail him on ddcs@idx.com.au & ask for some numbers from him.

(the one thing lacking in the 13b website scans is the group number codes. basically the part numbers listed are not the full ones and therefore cant be used to order parts with as theyre are only PARTIAL part numbers. im looking for the series 8 as well as spirit R parts diagrams. if anyone can get me access to these ill be willing to throw down some serious dough) if any of these are available to be purchaced.......... OR if someone that already has one would be willing to SCAN the pages or somehow transfer ti to a PDF i would be willing to pay a HEFTY ransom !!!!!
name your price to make it worth your while in USD! seriously.

They aren't partial numbers, they're i.d codes - it's enough info for any mazda parts dept to order (combined with a VIN - which is easy enough to track down/fabricate). Of course, usually the case is "won't" rather than "can't".

There are no specific spirit-r diagrams - just different numbers listed - or you need to specify when ordering. Now that might be tricky - but any of the basic version V parts should be able to be ordred from those part codes.

hmm the thing i dont understand is that depending on which car you have there are a multitude of parts (not to mention OPTIONAL parts) that are available. some have corresponding parts to other cars.... say RS tach vs spirit r tach) but some parts seem to be exclusive and have no counterpart with other cars.... therefore they must be depicted somewhere on their own. in hte 13b website none of those parts are shown. there must be much much more out there that most of us have simply just not yet seen. id be willing to pay for anyone with hookups/access to the FULL dealer parts diagrams. i need a PDF or something of the sort. i should probably post this request in the japan forum as well.

Not sure he still comes on here

believe he is on Ausrotary from time to time. Might not be keen to devalue his $500 investment either. The version V copy I've seen, as stated in that thread is in Japanese, part prices seem to be reasonably the same though.

nope - I've been through every book there is, and I've played on the dealer database (which is exactly the same as the books). Option parts - they pull out a folder with the old brochures and type in the appropriate number - then the computer (connected to the factory) tells them about availability (which, these days, is increasingly becoming less and less for MS and option parts). The brochure they use for option parts is, iirc, available on the 13bpower site.

If you want a spirit-r surround, you order the standard part and specify the version - computer will list it (that's where the part codes and part numbers differ) - nevertheless, any parts guy with a brain should be able to process the order with the code alone.

A VIN is even required (I've never had to specify a VIN, and I've ordered parts for every single production run). Comes in handy though, because there are lots of variations within productions runs - parts that were altered from one month to the next (eg: version I has three sets of fuel lines depending on VIN number), parts specific to certain models (eg: engine mounts are different between RZ and standard), parts specific to options (eg: hatch dampers being dependant on spoiler type, or lack of).

Version 6 parts, and this includes spirit-r, are very tricky though - as, for some reason, most of the parts aren't available as a set - eg: if you want a spirit-r meter set - you have to buy every single component (every bolt and cover) and assemble it yourself. Same with brand new 00-02 recaros - you've got play lego with the 40+ bits.

As for the book - I've asked to buy one, and they are not available (everything is online now). They once offered to let me borrow it and copy all the pages - but that's the kind of job I just don't have time for.
